Yes and no. A multi-billion position needs huge inflows of stupid institutional money to be able to exit. It is not practical really. A 100k participation in a 10m market cap is a piece of cake on the other hand.

Loads of guys trading penny stocks rely on online followers to generate price momentum. Used to be called market manipulation back in the day and leading to jail time, but every guy and his dog are doing it now.
