What do you believe to be a large amount of cash?

I have a million dollars, i bet quite a few ppl in the states have million dollars as well. The only problem is that if i were to realise my 1 million dollars i would have no place to live. Alot of ppl in australia (where i live) and the US are millionaires simply because of inflated house...

    How did you become consistant?

trade multiple uncorrelated strategies at the same time. It will reduce your risk greatly, and if the strategies are decent ull still get a very nice return to compensate. Of course if ur discretionary, well then u will have alot of problems doing that.

Cant really compare account sizes between different types of traders. For the majority of daytraders/scalpers out there, they arnt able to generate the same returns with say a 1 milion dollar account as they are with a 100k account due to liquidity, esp if your lookign for only a few ticks...

    What to tell family/friends?

give both a strategy which is extremely difficult to trade mentally and emotionally due to whipsaws and high probability of u being wrong. Original turtle system or 20day breakout isnt a bad bet. My theory is that if a person can trade a 20day breakout strategy mechanically, unemotionally...

Yes or No:"Fully hedged portfolios are not risk free"?

even if you make a perfect hedge u cannot possibly know the basis (physical price - futures price) at the end of your trade. So there is always uncertainty/risk in a hedge due to basis risk. In regards to options u can never construct a truly delta neutral hedge over an extended period of...

    How does one "find oneself"??

To paraphrase Donald Sutherland in The Italian Job: There are 2 types of traders: Those that trade to enrich their life Those that trade to define their life. And his piece of advice is very good: Dont let trading define your life

    speculators in economic theory

speculators in economics are generally seen as being rewarded for taking on risks which other market participants dont want to take on. economic theory regards speculators as simply all liquidity providers for hedgers etc. however this has become increasingly outdated. one look at some highly...

    MonteCarlo 'Fat-Tails' and Chebyshev's Inequality
