Trading based purely off Nasdaq L2.

I often wondered why certain stocks trade 100's of thousand of shares with a 1 or 1/2 cent spread, until I found out that some prop firms encourage their trades to sit on the bid and sell on the offer or very close to the bid so that they can get the rebates offered by the ecn's. Let's say you...

    BEST_ECN Missing?

To those who haven't seen what auto-ex can do, you will be amazed. Pretty soon everyone will be complaining why Timber Hill is no longer executing your orders.

    CME e-quotes now available

Well, everything is working fine, I got a call from England, and found out that my Sun Java is conflicting with Microsoft Java, had to disable Sun. Everything works fine, except, they are too expensive for the service that they are providing. Most likely this is my last month with them. shneed

    IB Improvements (Part 3)

DEF, If I see Timberhill making a market in a particular stock does that mean that the stock is elligable for auto-ex? And if so, will IB provide a list of all the stocks that Timberhill makes a market in, sort of like the way of finding out whether a stock is shortable through IB right now...

    Commissions or profits?

easy, It's hard to figure it out, since on the days that I lose money its mostly because of overtrading and therefore commissions, is it better not to pay commissions and be profitable even just a little and pay 40 % of that or to lose money on the down days vs to have to pay percentage on the...

    Commissions or profits?

I have a question to pro traders on this thread. I have an opportunity to start trading for a prop firm, and the deal that I was offered, was either pay commissions (something like a penny per share) and keep all the profits, or pay no commissions (just a $1 and change per 1000 shares plus ecn...

    watcher software

tom p, Thanks a lot for your response. Do you know if the hot keys on watcher are programmable onto a separate keyboard sold through some vendors, I know that you have to press the "shift" or "CTRL" key to place trades, that's too slow in my opinion, if you can program a separate keyboard for...
