My mistake, #6 wasn't an OB. Are you saying that bar 8, which was confirming the bar #6 as a point three is the same situation as the 11:55 bar on 6-25-08? The 11:55 OB is the point three bar which was confirmed later. Where the other situation was the OB's first movement down confirming...

I don't understand which bar you are referring to. In your example, bar 6 would be the specific example that I mentioned when I said . In that situation it does apply. The 11:55 bar on 6-25-08 is the opposite. Bar 8 isn't creating a point 3. Which bar were you referring to on the 4-23-08...

Spydertrader, I had trouble on the areas of the 6-25-08 ES chart Gucci brought up and hope you could clear a few things up and let me know if this is on the right track. Here’s my : Ask yourself a few questions, then 'see'if you can locate the answers. Quote from Spydertrader: Does...

    Anybody trade from their patio?

Having done a fair share of outdoor computing and trading, that laptop shade is actually a very good idea. One other issue is the light coming from the sides of the face. So a black hat or visor with a shade on the sides reduces eye stain a lot, while making you look like a freak. A black...

I like to make a suggestion/request for all those posting questions on charts, etc. If it's not too much trouble, could you mention the chart date in the questions or replies? It would be helpful to those re-reading or playing catch-up on the journal (and those of us a day ahead :D)...

This is just a heads up. ET has deleted a bunch of older inactive threads. So if you have some that you bookmarked but not saved, might want to see if they're still there, and save ones you don't want to disappear. - EZ

Hmmmm... and I thought I'd be disqualified by going over 20 words.:) That is only the case in the dominant traverse. So I'd have to go with Padawan on this: Increasing volume occurs on dominant traverses. Decreasing volume occurs on non-dominant traverses. Context is king and queen, and ace.

If volume increases, expect price to continue. If volume decreases, expect price to change. Price confirms whether or not these expectations are being met. - EZ

Sorry, didn't mean to cause any trouble for you with that Q. At the time I was wondering if it was a higher fractal trade based on the numbers I saw. But hey, if you cause a ruckus with your blotter then you gotta be on the right track. :)

    Do Trendlines work?

I've done that drill, more than once, aaaaannd you probably knew that :). Are you suggesting that because of the fact that by knowing one part, we already know the other - that what we have is sufficient and forget the other stuff? As in trying to fine tune a volume type indicator or come up...

    Do Trendlines work?

There's a few other ideas on volume, though now that CD23 has explained why to use overlap, they might not add value. Thought quite a bit about just using the raw ticks vs range to see divergences (range vs volume/tick discrepancies). Like in the EUR/USD chart. The drawback is a large...

    Do Trendlines work?

Regarding "one" causal factor: Limited movement by hitting support or resistance, a shift in sentiment, the balance of buyers/sellers changes or one group can't overcome the standing orders. All is a factor of volume, or insufficient volume to push price past that point. The intraday pace...

    Do Trendlines work?

Hey lj, I see what you're looking at. Generally you'd expect to see less overlap or more trendiness with higher volume. So it has to used in some relation or comparison to the bar's volatility. Looking at the chart is the best way to see how the overlap and volatility compares to the...

    Do Trendlines work?

In the box, we are comparing 2 bars, forming and previous. What does reversion mean here? Hi Comp, Lo Comp? OR? OR box, if we have reversion then no trend? OB restart = outside bar? Got lost trying to figure out how this box is supposed to flow.

    Do Trendlines work?

What is the p>.05 referring to? A percentage of the monthly bar or a minimum movement? At this point some rows can be added to enhance the five of six columns. The inputs to these rows will come from other places in the Forex realm. Is this referring to other raw data? What other places...
