    Iterative Refinement

FWIW, there was a lot of bar overlap that part of the day through midday and not much fun. You can always wash and exit. Look at the 10 minute chart that day too. On days like that I always check a few time frames, it helps me keep perspective. Ease up on the YM for now, use it to help...

    Iterative Refinement

This will mess you all up, and they're not fully annotated. It's a LTL bounce on the green, point 2 on the blue and point one on the red. The point was there was never any real zig-zag on that move, it was just a tape. Finding a 1,2,3 on 2 bars is just a tape, even though we had a VE it never...

    Iterative Refinement

Is this on today's chart? Could you post a chart snippet of this area? I was trying to follow along but had 13:25 bar much higher than 13:05 - so I'm thinking I have the wrong time or day? Thanks - EZ

That's a really good catch. If starting with a 2 bar channel, you do get a volume increase and VE. But it's still only a tape at this point, not a channel. Still looking for point 2. - EZ

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Jack has mentioned the historical volatility index in another thread, which may be of some help with the lack of volume (at least that's what I'm thinking). Hope to eventually look into that. The FX hours are a bit better for me. Regards, EZ

    Iterative Refinement

It would be nice if some of those that attended could go a little into detail about what they were/weren't doing before and what's now changed. Avi8 - mentioned the speed of Sypdertrader's analysis and when to go to YM Tiki - also mentioned when to go to YM, and "what must come next when...

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

From what I've seen it looks like it just has the indicators we use programmed but not an automated system - except for trendline or formation TL automation. I heard they still have some more work to do. So basically your paying for not having to code this stuff yourself, and having it all...

Anyone have trouble with Qcharts market hours being off, or the new contract hours? Installing it on my backup machine and it won't update the continuum client, etc. Using 5.1.0.21. Haven't seen any mention of anyone having issues. - EZ

    Vista Service pack fix ?

Hey Joab, Been using Vista for over a year now. I still prefer XP but Vista is the future, at least until Windows 7 due in 2010. If you buy a new system, make sure your programs have drivers for that operating system. Many software and hardware companies don't have 64 bit drivers yet -...

    'Spydertrader' and Chat

Probably removed 'cause you lied. You said there were strippers in there - and there weren't any. I was very disappointed . . . :D

    Scalping in USA

This is a problem in some other markets as well. What is a suitable substitute? Using volatility measures or components of the index?

Referring to dkm's post, by different context do you mean expecting the declining volume and current direction (retrace) to continue until +PRV or were you getting at something else? Regards - EZ

Regarding the lateral channel, I almost made mention of that because it seems like an idealized example, like the first graphic. But in some of the slaloming discussions there is reference to price peaking on the volume pulse (at the LTL), and returning to DU on the RTL. This was when it was...

Inside a typical channel we see one volume cycle per price cycle. Think about a retrace in an uptrend, a series of declining volume bars. If every bar is declining in volume does that mean price should change after every declining volume bar? Not necessarily. We’ve either had an FTT, or...

Maybe the cycle referred (1:2 ) to isn’t the R to L to R movement in the channel but on a larger scale, the channel itself? This though was sparked by a post by MAK: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47536&perpage=6&highlight=channel&pagenumber=64 When we look at...

When it gets slow and lots of bar overlap, try looking at the longer time periods vs. shorter, 10m or 15m.
