Impulse trading...Anyone else in the same boat?

Another thing if you are interested in scalping you should read the posts from Futurestrader71. He is a very successful day trader. Do a search on his ID and read. He has written some very useful stuff!

Impulse trading...Anyone else in the same boat?

Kiwi wrote They are almost certainly not "impulse" trading ... at least not the good ones. What they will have done is taken whatever rules they used/were taught and internalized them to the point where they appear to be impulses. A very small number may have been lucky and their...

Impulse trading...Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes there is. If you want to trade actively do it. There is nothing to feel guilty about. What you are calling an impulse is the "edge" that sets you apart from all other traders. Now a lot of experienced traders reading this post will say I am crazy. Your "impulse" is impatience, addiction...

    Boredom in Trading

I cut my trading time down to the most active time frames. 8:30-9:30/10:00cst 1:30-3:00cst I make roughly 50-100 trades a day. I try to be as active as the market allows in these time frames. I have found that if I try to sit in front of the computer for the entire trading day I get a...

Mechanical systems a route to the poor house.

Have any of you tried mechanically trading the spreads? ES - ER2 .... ES - NQ ....... ER2 - EMD I trade ER2 outright. I watch the action in ES closely. It seems to me there is money to be made trading the Index spreads.

    Pre Open (pit) ES Setups

Spreading it against ES or NQ? Or is a basket going net long or short all different instruments? Please explain a basket as I am new to trading baskets in the futures markets. I understand buying baskets of stocks, but not basket of futures.

why can't I follow my system?

First thing you must do is evaluate your identity. If I introduced myself to you at a Trader workshop would you reply"I am system 22(fake name of your system) and my name is ymtrader". No you would not! You are not your system. The only thing that sounds destructive is your attachment to...

Discretionary Trader --- Minds devilish way of categorizing memories!!!

Actually I should not have written the examples in the first person. If you notice the dates are the same thus neither are true at the present moment. One helpful tool has been writing on this board. I have used it as journal. Writing keeps me in the flow.

Discretionary Trader --- Minds devilish way of categorizing memories!!!

This is where I think for this argument it is important to realize I am talking about the trading game. I agree in everyday life outside of trading positive charged memories can be an example of someone's self-worth(self esteem). I am not trying to make a broad statement about life. I am...

    Returns and Drawdowns in Trading

    Pre Open (pit) ES Setups

I agree. ER2 premarket spread is too wide. I brought it up because it was very unusual. Everytime ES upticked everyone tried buying 700.00 in ER2 and 250 kept selling.

    Pre Open (pit) ES Setups

My advice to you is be very careful with a 50 lot limit in ER2 You could easily lose over 20,000 without knowing what hit you! This is a very conservative estimate!

    Pre Open (pit) ES Setups

If you want to look at something interesting look at ER2 today(6-19-06) from 7:45-8:20(cst). House 250 was selling at the price 700.00. They ended up selling around 1000-2000 at that price level. This is huge volume for premarket in ER2 when there are no 7:30(cst) numbers. If you look at a...

Discretionary Trader --- Minds devilish way of categorizing memories!!!

This is an excellent analogy for the first example. [B] after i reread the second example i see that i did not provide enough detail This is not quite what I was trying to get across with my second example. The second example I was trying to show an example of a trader who was doing...
