Is trading Gambling or not .."What say You" Vote here.

Many traders believe in their hearts that they are not gamblers, but I do think that you have to a gamble to some degree to trade succesfully; after all, you could lose some money. Otherwise , you could have just getting a regular job, and save your money in the bank instead of taking risks.

Is trading Gambling or not .."What say You" Vote here.

I think trading and gambling are very much similiar in terms of entering and exit a trade If you gamble you shouldn't be afraid to lose your money and should always remain in control. Trade with confidence = winning. I've seen many experienced traders in ET who are afraid to trade...

    Picking Tops.

When you see high volume, it's either time to buy or jump fast. Most traders use the crossing signal between MA 10 and 30, some use 5 and 35 as a signal to buy or sell.

We have the George Bush administration to thank for the current economic situation in the US, Lou Dobbs has been pounding on the subjects for years and there are special interests who think that its ok as long as China and India keep supplying us with the goods and services; and they are the one...

Get a book guys, couple days of training at BT won't do you much good no matter how good is the instructor. It takes an artist years of schools and training to be good, so is trading.

    How do you feel?

Just try to be the best you can, what really matters is how you meet your monthly expenses, I would have taken a job if they pay me better. Meanwhile works are up to your neck, cursing at the boss for pushing you to retirement early. It's your call but I think you made the right decision, in...

    Options or futures?

Most of my options are long and I also don't want to pay for the straddle either... so I have to be vey precise about my picks; I can do better than 50%, some gains more some are not as high but I can break even if I win 1 over 3 loses. When the stock doesn't go my way I'll cut my loses early...

    Options or futures?

Option allows you to make more money on the same stock than just buying it out right. Obviously in any trades market, you have to be efficient at what you do, so I am suggesting to Joel to get at least two books on trading just to see the markets from two different view points... then as your...

    Options or futures?

You should give option a try, it is very low risk; you don't have to do any research either, just pick any stock you like and determnine the profit potential based on your prediction of the stock movements. Now just sit back and watch, if it doen'st go side ways on you will likely make some money.

Wizard of Wall Street Oct-Nov Edition

Interesting journal but I think the US is in debt right now because of big government and over spending, along with the trade deficit ever increasingly widened. Who ever is the next president will be in deep, the US economy will be in for a recession. We'll wait and see how things evolve from...

How to react to changing markets?

...I'm a big fan of using different strategies with each designed for a different market environment instead of trying to tweak (change) one method for application in a different market. I like your observation Mark, you are right on.

What salary would it take for you to quit this?

Have you ever considered what are you going to do when the big recession comes. I don't think we can survive a 3 to 6 years drought just trading alone, a nice ljob would probably be a good idea. I wondered if anyone ever experienced this.

another day and another homebuilder warns...pathetic

The interest rates which drives the housing industry is going to go down, there are curently 30% increased in bankruptcy over the same period last year. We are definitely facing the housing slow down and posibly steady as soon as prices drop but you won't see any housing boom any time soon.
