    IB vs. Tradestaion

yes everything is linked to your watchlist in quotetracker and you dont have to switch between sites. You can even trade directly from quotetracker if you want but I like buttontrader more as execution platform for IB but thats just my opinion off course. Just give it a try. Both buttontrader...

    IB vs. Tradestaion

IB is a great broker but not a great trading platform (at least not for me) altough its getting better. I use quotetracker together with IB data (quotes and level II) and you can link every chart to a level II screen , T&S and news, you can even have multiple linked groups with quotetracker so...

    Trader P/L 2006

I think this is really a great thread but not from a learning perspective. Posting results just shows that trading can be very profitable and it can stimulate newbies to not give up. But learning something from it so that it can make a big difference in someones results I dont think so.

    IB vs. Tradestaion

IB is a great broker for the retail (day) trader I use it in combination with buttontrader (front end) and I use quotetracker for charts, quotes, level II and news. Works perfect! If you are a system trader than I think tradestation is the best choice.

    Volatility skew

I traded options as a MM for 5 years so if I was really that bad do you think I could last that long? But I dont want to start a fight because there are to many on this board. Just keep doing what you are doing and I hope profits will keep coming your way. The only thing I said is that trading...

    Volatility skew

A big theoretical edge was never left on the table but sometimes we didnt trade at a certain price for example an order to sell was left in to the order book so we could buy even cheaper.

    Volatility skew

There is almost never a mispricing by a market maker. Been there done that lol. If you see an opportunity than its almost always an order of someone that the market makers didnt want to trade. And to take advantage of a mispricing you have to do the trade delta neutral otherwise you are...

    Volatility skew

No I was a market maker on Euronext for 5 years. So I know what I am talking about. That you never had a losing week, well thats good for you. But trading the skew is a pro game or you must have a very big wallet. Doing credit spreads and taking advantage of the skew like optioncoach does in...

    Volatility skew

DeltaDelta wanting to know about how the skew works and why there is a skew is a good thing! Trying to make money with it as retail trader without sufficient capital is impossible because its for a large part the hedging of the greeks wich can make you money. If you want to learn about options...

    Volatility skew

Because the OP talked about volatility skew and thats always the difference in implieds of the strikes of the same expiration. Thats almost impossible to trade for a retail trader without making it a directional play. Trading the difference in skew between expiration months is even more a market...

    Volatility skew

skew is the difference in volatility of strike prices of the same expiration. You talk about the difference in volatility between different expiration months and thats not called the skew you can compare skew of different months tough and that can tell if the skew is expensive comparred to an...

DeltaDelta for what reason do you want to know the exact skew as a retail investor?

    Volatility skew

Juding you by the answers you gave I see you dont understand a lot about implieds (not trying to offend you) . If you change time to expiration and use the same bid and ask offcourse you will get a huge jump In implied volatility especially for the shorter term options and especially if you are...
