How do you know if your method is right? How do you know if TA is valid?

OK, 21st Century Physics: Cause (tendency) ---> Effect (associstion)

How do you know if your method is right? How do you know if TA is valid?

I would think you have it 50% wrong  , simply because Advanced technical analysis =\= Technical analysis :D

How do you know if your method is right? How do you know if TA is valid?

imo: 1. From External Cause (company performance, weather, interest rate, etc.) to Effect (upcoming price, upcoming volume, etc.) ----> Quant Analysis. This is a quantitative approach of fundamental analysis. Players are capital-intensive. They are market manipulators based on solid facts...

Yes, I think you're pretty right. But drawdown (risks) would be enlarged correspondingly. :p

I would say a trader using this kind of platforms should require a more complicate strategy than one in normal trading environment. I am wondering the trader has to try hard for how much (s)he can understand the programmed/in-built characteristics (designed by individual firm) of the...

    FXCM hmmmmmmm.

Thanks Natalie. I've found additional information here. Their prices quoted would be about the same as the true (?) prices of the underlying market(s), except their spreads may have a small difference. Spreadbets would have a variable dollar value per price point which is to be decided...

Spread (or else)? I would think it's hard and very hard to evaluate (judge?) the real-time spraed if based on our limited experience and knowledge learnt from merely web site information or demo software/datafeed, I just guess. :(

SaxoTrader itself alone is a FX firm, rather than a regulated bank like Saxo Bank, isn't it?

    FXCM hmmmmmmm.

I believe this kind of market making operations of different forms has been existed (legally?) in the financial markets for long time. I know some FX firms do state, even on web sites quite clearly to their customers, that they are simply market makers.

Did someone mention before in another thread about there are some differences between spreadbetting and CFDs? Are they both market makers/ bookmakers? (What are the differences again, anyway?)

It seems you when using your current trading system would have experienced "cutting loss quickly" for at least once, haven't you :( ?

    prospect theory

Very good point, GG. It appears an edge simply equals to a better/ earlier timing for taking actions by winners (than the timing by losers (many others/ the crowd) who would have to willingly or unwillingly follow the winners' actions, before it's too late  )
