The 1230.00 PCLN weekly calls reached a high of $1.70. But why?

The 1230.00 PCLN weekly calls reached a high of $1.70. Does anyone have an explanation? Previous close for the calls $0.70, open today at $0.50 Previous close for PCLN $1,197.76 There is no way that PCLN's $1201.41 high of the day (less than $4.00 from the previous close) would justify...

Question about weekly options straddles and strangles

Anything less than 95% would be problematic, those 5% losing trades takes a big chunk out of the 95% winning trades. He is just one bad trade away from wiping out all his remaining profits. :)

Question about weekly options straddles and strangles

I don't think there is ever a good time for buying straddles or strangles, they are too expensive. Go with a direction and buy calls or puts - not both. :)

Completed Python Script - CSV to PDF with Pyfpdf

Yes ...... Using the Pyfpdf library. I have no use for PDF to CSV, but I'm sure there are solutions out there for PDF to CSV conversions. The purpose of my thread is to bring attention to the Python pyfpdf library. It is not a Python tutorial. I personally don't care about comment blocks...

Completed Python Script - CSV to PDF with Pyfpdf

FYI Do you regularly download your brokers transaction history or other CSV files? Do you then perform the same mundane spreadsheet tasks manipulating that CSV file? Do you then output to PDF and print a hard copy? Would you like to output a formatted PDF file directly from the CSV file? Do...

    Selling naked puts option strategy

You did mention: "I did try this several years ago on MSFT as an experiment. I just did 100 shares and was in and out just like the plan for a couple of months and the return was surprisingly good". Several years ago MSFT was stuck in a very tight trading range of about $25.00 to $30.00 for a...

Best case scenario about $10.00 per week - and that's selling 1 strike OTM or about $0.50 from the stock price. :)

OK ..... He did try and pass his thread of as "4 years of real time trades" - his quote not mine. I respect his request not to post on his thread, but when oldnemesis promotes his thread on another thread he is open to constructive criticism - there is no need for him to be so defensive. :)

    Selling naked puts option strategy

WOW ....... No need for the song and dance. IMO ....... Opening trades or exploring possible trades is 5% of trading, the other 95% is the outcome of those trades. Without knowing the P/L you are back to square one. Obviously you don't post the closing trades, including expirations for a reason...

    Selling naked puts option strategy

oldnemesis ........ In the 4 years of "real time trades" you have not posted a single closing trade in your thread - whether it has expired worthless, hit maximum loss, or closed early due to the position moving against you. Have you ever posted any closing trades in "real time" in your...

How does a butterfly behave at expiration when the stock ends up between the legs?

IMO ...... A 1-strike butterfly is way too narrow. Doesn't cost much, but the maximum loss strikes - 19 and 20 - are too cose to the body - 19.50. Pick your estimated price of the underlying at expiry and build the butterfly around that strike, leave room for the underlying to be off target. It...

    Using Trading to Transfer Capital.

    Using Trading to Transfer Capital.

The legalities is another story and can be debated forever. But the reason to try and transfer money from a locked-in IRA to non-IRA account is valid. My post is based on experience - I was given a buy-out package to leave my job and I could take my pension funds with me, but they had to be in...

    Using Trading to Transfer Capital.

But eventually you will pay taxes on the IRA account, so they probably wouldn't care. IMO ..... You would want the transfer to go from the IRA to a non-IRA account. The reason? Perhaps the IRA account is locked and you can't access the funds until you are a certain age, but you want the money...
