    Quite right Hybone. Tried to find "cheap" cals for quite a while then i realized was making better net on greater debit cals. If you have a 0.50 debit it is unlikly you can get a roll that exceeds your commisions by much at all. And you do have to estimate your roll(s) before you decide to get in.

    The calendars that i've used since i've been using it were eight winners and four losers. The credit spreads were also about 2:1 positive. Commissions take about half the winnings, but i've learned to accept that if the net value of my account keeps going up!

    How many years away are we from a no BS backtesting program?

    Well it turned out, over the years that i don't buy or sell "naked" stocks or etf's without hedging with options. I know exactly how much i can make to the penny. Likewise the loss. The odds have to be in my favor or i don't do it. Thats the edge for me.

I use about half of them. I find that the fact that they are watching the spreads and not just me is...

    How many years away are we from a no BS backtesting program?

    Most people i've met that are succesful traders don't seem to use a backtesting program. I used to use Tradestation's easy language but i found it was much easier to set hard standards for trading and stick with them. dan

    Anyone made money in May?

    had three calendar spreads active in may. rolled to june or july on all of them. with the rolls, two are net credit and the other has halved the debit. acct up about $1000(yeah small trader) on those 30 contracts. about time to take the money and run to other spreads.

    its nokia(nok) on twenty contracts: delta=43, gamma= -22, theta=19,vega=38. it goes x-div on the 31st of march so need to watch the extrinsic.
