    Thank Goodness for the PPT

Looks like they held the line again today--If they could just find some more buyers.

NQH3 IQFEED vs IB Quote difference

Scalping would be tough if they shaved 1-2 points out of the blocks. One of the two services has to be lagging.

    Thank Goodness for the PPT

Will we get a good bounce after today? From the charts it looks like today we touched support (thanks to the PPT I believe), and the market should pop up again fulfilling the January effect. If not things don't look pretty.

Help setting up TWS behind a ZA firewall

Probably the IP of the router if you have one. I use TWS with Zonealarm and it works fine without any special setup.

    Thank Goodness for the PPT

I think its the big picture, not just housing. The government keeps stepping on the balloon and the bulge shifts to the area of least resistance. With consumers leveraged to the hilt, interest rates at their lowest point, US consumers driving the whole world economy--but having their jobs...

    Thank Goodness for the PPT

I hope nobody is trying to short this market (beyond a few minutes) :D

    Thank Goodness for the PPT

I knew they would come in and support the market soon. Was able to cover my shorts with a small profit assuming this. This is too obvious--key points defended on high volume. They can only prolong the inevitable so long. Just didn't have the guts to go long :( (I know, I know, we are...

    4 Trillion

Stock prices and Money have a direct relationship. More money spent means more demand chasing the same number of stocks, thus driving the prices higher.

    2:04 what happened??

I thought it was just technical, but guess the news is helpful sometimes. No movement for an hour and then a pick-up in selling. Easy money. :D

How do you manage your trades??

I think "parlaying" your bet is the way to go. Just as previous posters alluded to, when you are up one cycle, move stops to breakeven. You are then letting your original bet ride, plus your current profit. You then take what you get, possibly 2-6 times your original bet or breakeven. In the...

Will 2003 be as good as 2002?

I'll bet 2003 will have a 10 point average range in the S&P and 20 in the Nasdaq, requiring tweaking of methodologies to make money. While the rewards may subside, so will the risks, so it will be a matter of adjusting your bets, and cranking it up a bit.

Put the roll of coins in your palm and punch yourself repeatedly. :D Good stuff man! Quarters might work better though. It's a personal preference. :D

    Multiple contract traders

Taking partials is all psychology and doesn't improve results IMO. For every smaller profit you save before a reversal, you lose on a good pop by not having a full load.

2 Steps Forward 1 Step Back

Yes, this journal could unknowingly get people to open a $5,000 futures account to get rich quick. We all know what will happen in reality. I do believe what he does is possible, because I trade the same way, but I make a few more mistakes trying to "feel-out" the trends.

2 Steps Forward 1 Step Back

Yes Draxon, we hate successful journals. You better shut it down and quit making us feel so impotent. Why not include a screen shot of your execution summary each day to silence the critics? I actually enjoy your journal, keep it up.
