Are there any SCALPERS on this board ??

Are you saying you personally trade 750,000 - 2,000,000 shares per day? I've never heard of anyone trading that kind of volume. If so that is impressive!!!

I have a question regarding envelopes. When you say for example you use a .80 envelope are you talking .8% or just .80 (as in 80 cents)? Leland

I am wondering how long Echo holds onto my deposit should I decide to open an account with them? Say I open an account with Echo and family reasons force me to leave trading after 6 months or so. When would my deposit be returned?

    Need to keep it simple

Thanks for the very thought provoking reply. It's funny that you mention big moves taking place with news stocks as that style is my bread and butter. I know exactly what you mean about trying out new things. I think part of the problem is that we are only human - I mean I only have one set of...

    Need to keep it simple

My trading has been a little rocky lately. I've been trying a couple of new things (not sure why) and I have suffered a couple of big losing days (for me). Just need to get back to my basics and stick with that works. Wondering if other traders experience this? Step out of their comfort zone to...

    I have a dream.

I know of some folks who used to trade the shot gun approach (they may still). Basically they would buy strong stocks and short weak ones. Average position size of 1000-1500 shares but sometimes they would have 200 open positions. Then they would sort these stocks on a P&L blotter and just sell...

Riding your winners and number of positions

Don, I am in total agreement with you in regards to limiting your desktop to two monitors or so. I just can't see how people can look at everything when they have 6 monitors or something crazy like that. I have enough trouble with two:) I guess the old saying "less is more" applies to...

Riding your winners and number of positions

    1) Increase my trading size dramatically 2) Increase my trading size, and figure out some way to let my winners ride longer. Nitro I too have been increasing my trading size. Been toying with the idea of selling part of the position and letting the other portion run. Haven't really made...

Hey guys, Thanks for all the informative posts to this thread. Plenty of good food for thought here. I am still working on a strategy for riding my winners but I am getting oh so close. Leland
