Are there any honest, reliable prop firms out there?

Well, what happens if there is some sort of geopolitical crisis? If the market drops 10% in seconds, and you are leveraged 4, 10 or 20 times on a trade, you could be wiped out. I live in NJ, to bad or I think I would give swift a try. Joeyata1 is a seasoned trader, he is correct and I second...

    Cramer Supeonaed In Gradiant Probe

CNBC has become ridiculous. Cramer isn't even the worst of it. Tuesday morning, Ron Insana was on the floor of the NYSE, pre-market open. He is interviewing a floor broker for Jeffries. Ron Insana asks him "Is the decline over" referring to Monday's decline. The guy says "no, the market...

top 1% vs bottom 50% (US wealth)

Our government has embarked on a propaganda campaign. The way Unemployment is calculated has changed over the last 20 years. Without going into great detail, an example of this is that you are no longer considered unemployed after your 6 months of benefits is exhausted. The Unemployment rate...

top 1% vs bottom 50% (US wealth)

First off, all of these products are only DESIGNED in the US. Most of the components and the manufacturing takes place in China, etc. Free trade was never intended to be funded by American IB's. They justify free trade in the media based on the original concept which has been perverted by...

The reality - from Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration

Company executives like Gates & Chambers (Cisco) are like politicians. They tell us there is a shortage of engineers, because they want to be accepted by the public, while they are opening up huge campuses and plants in India & China, and other countries around the world, employing many...

    NYC Traders Expo

I think you nailed it with "frontrun orders" God knows how much they charge to begin with. I suspect many of these "chatrooms" are just a good way to get buyers to come in and dump on them. Just a glorified Yahoo Chatroom that you pay for!

Win XP Pro has System Restore, Win 2K does not. System Restore rules! That alone makes it much better than Win 2K imo

    Observations on the NYSE specialist.

I agree with all of the complaints being voiced here. But the reality is that Specialists and MM's are in business to make money at our expense. The SEC does very little to protect the individual investor. Just look at the dot.com settlements with the big IB's. They stole billions from...

    Trading Floor Clerk

How about putting up your own shingle as an attorney, making 200K+ a year and swing trading? Did you pass the bar? Lawyers can make sick money. I don't think throwing that away is wise.

I've been happy with PC-cillin Internet Security from Trend Micro. It's only about $40, and it includes antivirus, firewall, spyware, email, etc. It's rated well by PC magazine, etc. You can get a three license version for $60 I think.

Have you been trading profitably for more than a year?

Unfortunately, it has been documented that people lie about themselves on the internet in chatrooms all the time. An even sadder statistic is that 25% of all cellphone users in public are actually faking the call. People are strange :D
