    Statistical Trading Using the Open

Does anyone use the Open as a key component of their trading method / strategy? My research shows that the Open is crucial to the direction of the trading day. I developed an Open Probabilities calculator that will gives ranges for where the Open may occur and probabilities of certain prices...

I am traveling and don't have access to the data...I was just asking dumb@ss...why don't you quit playing and learn how to program or code something. Do some research...BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW!

This is the problem with most trading platforms...the graphs play tricks on the mind. What you 'think' you see isn't actuality. Throw in a bunch of squigly lines and you really get confused.

Gotta LOVE the ignore user feature! There are a lot of IDIOTS out here...

The always-in-the-market has it's difficulties when the range contracts. When a market is in a contraction phase, you have to trade it differently and there just isn't a lot to take. Mark may have refined his method to change during this time. That's the difference between a system trader...

That is correct, therefore the STOP is a STOP and REVERSE by nature, because it's always in the market. Not certain if this is how he trades or if he uses different parameters, but he probably has left a few things out.

From what I have read, that is EXACTLY how the system is supposed to be traded. Not certain, but one way to improve may be to develop your own 2nd data source that is directly derived from the instrument you are trading.

MARKET INTERNALS! Like taking the pulse of the market and it has nothing to do with the PRICE, IT IS A LEADING INDICATOR! It's NOT a moving average of the PRICE!

Mark is looking at the internals of the market, not just the price. The internals turn BEFORE the MARKET. And this is NOT a moving average of the price. It's much more creative he published the system years ago.

It's not that hard to figure out...if you know what you are looking for. It might be the most interesting ideas I ever heard of for trading a market based instrument. As for today's signal, from the data I am looking at, I believe it came a little later than 1 PM. I would also assume that...

He's not using actual price data...he's using a much more creative approach and I would imagine that a buy signal was created this afternoon somewhere between 12 - 1 PM.

Mark, I read quite a bit about the system can it be used to trade the SPY, Qs, or the DIA? Very interesting approach to say the least.

Does QQQ follow a distinct trading pattern?

With the product that I am developing, it will be a web-based pre-market open calculator. You can enter almost ANY symbol. It will give you 5 different regions that will tell you if the stock (symbol) OPENS in this region, it has a historical probability of doing this and the following will...
