You know, in revisiting this thread I am starting to wonder how much of the naked shorts out there are due to the market makers exception. They don't have to borrow to short or need an uptick. All they need is to keep an inventory to help smooth volatility.

EXPE was public before this current issue that trades now. Heavy heavy short interest......they went private and pretty much ran the price up 100% or so..I don't remember the exact prices. Stayed quiet for awhile and then went public again. Still a POS but you get my point.

Is this a fact? Has it been proven there are naked sellers in this name? If so why hasn't the NASD/SEC halted trading in OSTK to investigate? I am being serious here....if not all of this is pure speculation. As I said earlier it would not surprise me one bit if the CEO was cheerleading...

Regardless of our other conversation I agree 100% with you on this. SEC/NASD were created to garner fees..nothing more.

All I said was the CEO does not understand mkt dynamics. Naked sellers could step in at the mkt with 1mm shares to go and if the comp is worth where its trading today Inst will come in and buy up the fire sale stat. I have nothing to admit to being wrong about.
