    Cycle strategy

rtstrading, I really appreciate you taking the time to look over my strategy! I've looked at adding different time frames into the mix. My problem is that I'm not really sure where to start with the times. I've found that using a monthly MA on a daily chart works well and that using a...

    Cycle strategy

Thanks for checking out my site! On the "market cycles" section I've listed Jurik, Walterbressert.com, and Jan Arps as sources for well written double smoothed stochastic indicators. I prefer the Jurik indicator for a few reasons. The Jurik indicator is a bit faster than a traditional double...

    Cycle strategy

Hello Everyone, I've posted a couple of times in the past sharing some of the things that I've found useful (or at least interesting). I've recently created a page that outlines the indicators and strategy involved in the creation of my automated system. If you have some time to kill and...

    Bill Williams

Hello everyone, Has anyone coded an automated strategy using the Bill Williams Investor's Dream method? If so, have you found it to be successful? So far I've written a strategy in Tradestation that takes the fractal breakouts and then adds on the "zone" trades. The software uses the...

Ah, got it. I'm a network engineer by trade and I'm studying for an exam right now. My sense of humor is a little under the weather today :( -Hoo_doo

Thanks Fadertrader. I'll definitely check out the book. Although, I would beg to differ that it's the only system that works. It's might be the only one for sale though  -Hoo_doo

What I've found useful (or not)

Well put. I don't mind the "wrong once at the top" (or bottom) situation so much. My biggest issue has been related to how fast I'm able to realize the market is moving sideways. Those are the situations where I tend to get beat up a little. I'll figure it out one of these days I suppose.:)...

What I've found useful (or not)

Thanks for the advice on reducing position size. At one point I was adding to my position as the trend went on. In effect, I was increasing my risk. I had the opportunity to talk to a very well respected trader once and he told me to take the opposite approach. In other words, start out...

What I've found useful (or not)

Once upon a time, there was a trader on another message board. This trader went by the name Olman. Olman's method was to trade using only a moving average. When trend was up, he would buy every time that the price dipped and touched the MA. Olman said he would be right all the way up and then...

Hi Trapper, Yes, this oscillator is like the Bressert Double stochastic, but someone added a smoothing function. It's also very similar to the Jan Arp Swing Hi/Lo oscillator. I haven't checked out the Clayburg stuff, but I will now. Thanks! -Hoo_doo

What I've found useful (or not)

Well, here it is. I was sworn to secrecy on some of this for some reason, but I have yet to see why. In the last few years I've written several automated strategies and quite a few indicators. In the end, I've made $, lost $, made $, etc.... Here's some of the things that I've found...
