Unemployment by County - Cool Chart

Yup this is the REAL health care issue but all the fat fucks that overrun this country wanna blame illegals, Obama, Mcdonalds, blah, blah, blah. I'm very confident if the fat fucks disappeared my health care premiums would be a lot lower than if the illegals went back to mexico, or McCain was...

Unemployment by County - Cool Chart

I don't think that has as much to do with Obamacare as there are too many fat fucks in this country being subsidized by too few healthy people. Health insurance premiums have gone up EVERY year since I entered the work force. So I'd blame the nasty fatty pounding doughnuts down more than...

    Volt, 40K car! False economy.

I'm a pretty big fan of hybrids and electric and plan on buying nothing but hybrids or electrics going forward........but even I have a limit on the size of premium I'm willing to pay and as usual GM is not even close to making a desirable vehicle for me. A new insight can easily be purchased...

    Henry Waxman's War On Reality

I guess my question would be whats the cost increase for the prescription drugs for the tax payer if the retirees fall back to the government because the companies discontinued the program versus the tax payer subsidizing the cost to begin with?

    Yay I want one

Well everybody has different reasons for buying electric rather than a gas, mine is not so much based on pure gas prices so I don't believe the savings will be that great. Although if you already have solar panels on your house (which is my plan for later this year because I'm sick of the...

    Yay I want one

Yeah I agree that the cost may still be a bit high but its nice to see some forward movement. I was on the fence with the Volt because of the price but at least Nissan is giving some hope that they can get the price under 30K. Which will also add some pressure on Ford to bring their EV Focus...

    Fixed versus ARM mortgage

Yup you've pretty much nailed it. When we bought our first condo the decision I was trying to choose between was to either take a 30 year fixed at 6.25% or an FHA 1/1 ARM that started at 3.00% with a 2% margin, 1%/yr adjustment cap, and a lifetime interest cap of 8%. We walked into the condo...

    Fixed versus ARM mortgage

Uhm not quite.....ARMs have a lifetime cap of 5%. So if you get a 5/1 ARM at around 4.5% the most it can ever get up to is 9.5% regardless of the index. I believe pay option arms are the only ARM mortgages that don't have a 5% over initial interest rate and those are difficult to find nowadays...

    Palin on OReilly

I don't know how this dumb bitch manages to land on every single land mine set in front of her.... http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/18/family-guy-voice-actor-says-palin-does-not-have-a-sense-of-humor/?no_interstitial

Volcker plan on proprietary trading seems vague yet convoluted

I have no problem with speculation driving prices up in stocks or commodities. I have a problem when the money used to speculate is tax payer money. If the banks want to put together a fund that consists of private FDIC uninsured money and go play in the oil markets and it causes the price to...

Volcker plan on proprietary trading seems vague yet convoluted

I guess what infuriates me is that when the banks are using our money to trade in stocks it doesn't directly affect everyone because who cares about the price of apple stock on a given day. But when these fuckers plow into the commodity markets and drive the price up (which they will do under...

Volcker plan on proprietary trading seems vague yet convoluted

I don't understand why their is such resistance from the repubs to stopping banks from using deposits from trading. If banks take the tax payer deposit and go play around in the commodity market which will probably result in higher commodity prices..... So now the banks take my deposit...

HUH's crash and burn trading thread

Sorry about not updating the the result of this thread. I let all the positions get closed in the December option cycle (unfortunate because I could have kept rolling the 65 iwm puts for at least another cycle or two for some nice gains but oh well). I haven't been paying much attention to the...

HUH's crash and burn trading thread

I figured I'd go ahead and add an update here. I'm expecting to have my ITM puts get exercised anytime now since there is virtually no time premium left in them. I also wanted to add an update to what the returns are looking like going into the final week. In November I had the following...

Anyone using an Options Advisor service that has been successful?

I tried several options advisory services many years ago and quickly found them to be pretty useless because I could make or lose the same amount of money on my own as the services. They just didn't seem to offer anything useful that I couldn't get on my own by picking up a basic options book...

HUH's crash and burn trading thread

Possibly, I'm going to spend december going back through the thread and see if I want to bother tweaking this strat or move on to something else. Although its been a big disappointment, I'm still walking away relatively unscathed considering we basically had a horribly 1 sided market since...

HUH's crash and burn trading thread

Well that sort of worked out okay for me. Obviously the 610/620 spread is going to expire worthless creating a big loss but I was able to recoup some of it with the extra 200 short shares. I went ahead and covered the following two positions for $5850.7 each: short 100 shares iwm @ credit...
