Put Master you are right 80% of the time but when you are wrong, try closing out your positions at market open when there's a 5% drop on a Sunday. I sell put premium of course but I moderate it with some longs,so costs are next to zero, with tiny risk but massive profit potential-it usually works...

Wow. EU steals 10% of bank deposits in exchange for bailout

When do bankers get the message-they never make a profit in the long run because they have a rotten business model. They should all be run as mutuals, and profits going to the state. When banks try to get clever we all pay-and STILL they don't get it. The arrogance is staggering

cdcaveman is right- you could get luck with selling spreads- but don't dick around with stock options, only use index and european style- ie no early exercise, and that can happen when you are least expecting it. Don't try and be the market, go where the liquidity is. Enjoy the journey-and...

Wow. EU steals 10% of bank deposits in exchange for bailout

Arab oil money bought much of London in the 70s when the UK was still in poverty after saving the world-twice! Seriously though the divide between haves and have-nots is now greater than ever - there are no free markets only rigged markets. Nobody starves in Britain, yet we see soup kitchens in...

I only trade the index- so liquidity is fine, plus the trading hours suit me plus currency risk and costs-as I no longer use IB and sometimes trade naked-which requires 100K in IB Why trade the US? It's no different bang for buck, but they get horrible 'fat finger' trades

Wow. EU steals 10% of bank deposits in exchange for bailout

The US has been in recession for a decade or more-but it's worse than that-it is trading illegally as it is insolvent-it does not have the means to meet its debt obligations. Any normal business borrowing such staggering amounts relative to GDP would have lasted about 6 months.

Not one reply-I am so sick of lame UK 'traders' Surely there are some out there? Or are they all bickering among themselves imagining forex trading will make them rich?

I've been trading for many years and simply looking for others-trading buddies, possibly newbies but not interested in those who do not trade real money and suck the life out of you!

Never known that to work in the real world as someone else said -slippage and comms will kill the profit-you may get £5 while the broker gets £80!

Well it keeps on bumping higher- I have no idea what is driving it apart from bonds being such crap they might as well set fire to their money or buy shares, which may at least yield a dividend even if they halve in value-again. Some smart comments from condoroptiosn suggest we may be in the...

As an options trader I employ any number of strategies but when vol is this low and the market has not had a losing month for 8 months, you have to position for a sudden change-nobody knows the truth about the UK economy,or even worse the US economy. We are at the mercy of slippery politicians...
