When buying on pullback goes bad

Yes, in this market you should be trading pullbacks for continuation lower. Just reverse your strategy and short or use your buy strategy with inverse ETF's.

When buying on pullback goes bad

That is the risk you face trying to get in early. The reward is obviously that you got in early before the next leg up and that your stop is more limited to just below the swing low. If you are looking for higher probable trades then you can do what many do which is wait for price to break past...

Think Or Swim and Options on Futures?

They're still holding to later this month for the options on futures. They just released a small update over the weekend that added more futures products as well as some options backtesting, etc.

    Question about Index Futures Liquidity

I think it would also depend on when you execute too. If your trying to jump into momentum and it's running you may not get an instant fill. I usually execute right before the break of a range so I haven't really had limit order fills that were not instant.

    Question about Index Futures Liquidity

I assume you're talking normal session trading. The YM is very liquid unless you're using huge size. I scalp the YM often with small size, never a problem getting good fills. I have no idea on the ER, never traded it. You should always use limit orders getting in. If it starts to run you could...

    SuperVol's YM Trading Journal

Whether I'm paper-trading or live, I treat them as if it were live. Unless I'm trying out new strategies on sim, I play it like it is live. It should be practice and practice should prepare you for trading live otherwise it won't do anything to make you better.

    newb questions

Most will let you trade for 5K, some less. OEC requires 5k I believe. I would read through broker reviews here. I plan to move some funds to OEC as well. You can make as many round trips as you want, there is no limit.

What broker do you suggest ?

Then honestly I would go with one of the options you listed that offers multiple products because you don't need speed. It would be overkill for you to go with Mirus, Advantage, OpenECry or any other futures broker. If you like Esignal then go with them. Not sure what they're fees are though. I...

What broker do you suggest ?

I think it depends on your trading style. If you're talking about swing trading the indexes then I think just about anything would work as long as it has the tools you are looking for. But if you're talking about daytrading or scalping the indexes then you would want a broker that offers a...

    acceptable Drawdown

curious to know what system builders strive for in drawdowns? I have created a system that has a high winning rate, and good average profit over a different periods of time. But the drawdown % is between 5 and 10. I realize this is subjective as well to my funds but I was curious to what others...

Sure, and that's 6% of his current balance (or 4% or his starting balance) which for me is more than I'm willing to lose per pop.

The big question. How do i sort through the mess of the e-minis?

I haven't had any problems getting good fills on the YM. If anything it seems more choppy since changing exchanges. As far as following the ES, at times it does but I've also seen it lead at times. You definitely want to have both up as you can get some nice early cues from each, albeit matter...

The big question. How do i sort through the mess of the e-minis?

Getting stopped out is no lie especially in the current chop market where backfills are plentiful.

New Trader. Please Suggest a Broker

They have corn, wheat and soybeans on CBOT. They do not charge any inactivity fees or software fees. Their is no extra charges for data. The price they give you is all in. My experience has been great with TOS. You won't find quicker responding support and don't be suprised if Sosnoff (head man)...
