    Any prop firms hiring?

http://www.tradersnarrative.com/list-of-proprietary-trading-firms-735.html After reviewing the site above and conducting due diligence, here are some thoughts: 1. Some firms will "hire" you, but usually it's recent college grads with limited or no trading experience. They will offer a...

When will we hit Dow 12000?

Yes, it's fiat currency. Look at a dollar bill, it says "Federal Reserve Note"...but the "Federal Reserve" is not even a federal agency, it's a private banking cartel. Here's a fun test: go to your white pages and look under "Government Listings" and try and find the phone number for the...

    Fidelity Active Trader Pro

Fidelity has great order entry executions through their "directed trading" window on ATP. HOWEVER, the charts are junk, and you can get much better charting features with other platforms. If you're going to ever use ATP, be warned: make sure you have another chart package with another...

The risk of giving a prop firm your money

Gcapman, Good point. Also, Team Trading abruptly closed shop in late March 2010, with funds owed of ONE MILLION DOLLARS (or perhaps more) to independent traders, plus the employees and vendors who did not get paid. Anyone who steals money from others will eventually pay the price...

The risk of giving a prop firm your money

The best is to conduct due diligence on the firm you wish to trade with, and keep all correspondence in writing. CBOE firms keep your capital contribution for one year (as per SEC). FINRA firms may or may not hold your capital for a full year, as they are usually better capitalized. Yes...

    the truth about options ...

I agree with the other post, selling out of the money calls for your stock holdings is a great way to trade options and generate monthly gains for the portfolio. And it only requires the most basic options level clearance, so it's possible even with an IRA.

When will we hit Dow 12000?

Money printing has given rise to one of the biggest rallies in a generation since the March 2009 lows. The market eventually rises, even if it takes another decade, as they simply take out the weak companies in the Dow Jones and S&P 500 and replace them with others. Imagine if you go back...

    best antivirus

I few months back I had a virus on my main PC. I had ESET, and it didn't work. I used a service where the firm tries to get rid of it by remote access. They tried many things, but only SuperAntiSpyware found the bug and killed it.

I'm not buying this gap down open...

In real estate, it's "Location Location Location." In the stock market, it's "Commission Commission Commission." Propping it up and then running back down...either way, they get traders to pay commissions!

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

businesstaxes: 1. some LLC's are registered B/d's, such as Bright, where traders are class b members, not customers. however some LLC's are simply private equity groups, such as Team Trading, which was NEVER a registered broker, although it was an LLC. 2. traders on some LLC's are NOT...

oleyefi: If you are owed capital based on your written contract with the firm, then the following link will be useful should you decide to file a complaint with the SEC regarding your unreturned funds. https://denebleo.sec.gov/tcr/add.action?c=12

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

__________________________________________________ Illum: If you review the Team Trading thread (now over 300 pages), then you will see Itrade2009 has posted warnings regarding these non-registered bd's awhile back. Many of us were NOT aware of such rules (including myself, who is owed...

    Daytrader lifestyle =boring

Boring, eh? I'll take boring. I enjoy being a drone, watching charts, pushing buttons, by myself, for the following reasons: 1. I control my income/destiny, within the parameters of what the market offers on an intraday basis. 2. I don't have to commute. 3. I don't have to listen to...

If the odds are 50/50 why do most people lose ?

Most has been said, but here are some additional thoughts. 1. Trading without a clearly defined written plan 2. Not defining the risks BEFORE placing trades 3. Not being humble enough to admit when you're wrong and kill the losing trade early

How are these gaps up possible ? F up 5% on 1200 shares

zanek: "F" is a NYSE stock, although mostly traded electronically through ARCA, there are still specialists who have to match the buy/sell orders in their books. If there is a buy side imbalance, then the specialist must find enough sellers willing to match the bid, and thus can have an...

    Uptick Rule

I always found it suspicious that they eliminated the uptick rule shortly after the summer of '07, when the market topped. They claim it doesn't make sense now due to program trading, hmm.

is scalping viable or just BS?

di1836: most prop firms will pass through the liquidity rebates to the traders. this is different than retail firms, which make money on the rebates and also get paid for order flow. your questions are valid, so why not just ask the firm itself?
