There are ads for mortgage re-fis that have repelling looking people in them on Yahoo. Somebody somewhere must have done research that shows ugly people in ads get clicks.

Saturday night, staying home, drinking Budweiser, writing a future bestselling crime novel. Sometimes frogs live under the soil and when it rains hard enough they come up making all kinds of racket. If I were a NFL football team my record over the last 17 weeks would be 13-1-3 (let's say I won...

Sitting home right now but could possibly go out later tonight unless some Randomista can talk me out of it.

What do you guys think of JCP after all?

So, I went back and bought JCP again last Tuesday at 10.41. I like it, if Jesse Livermore were here today he would say that the tape says it is under accumulation. Lots of these beaten down retailers are rallying, it's uncommon to see stocks of the same sector appearing in my nightly database...

That from this week's The Trader column in Barron's. The retail/specialty retail sectors have been weak for a long time now, and I've recently added retail stocks at 52 week lows to my buy watch. I think the turnaround will happen sooner rather than later and I won't let Lundgren's comment...

Saturday night, staying home, sipping wine, reading Barron's. Last week was a winning week in the market - made a grand total of $5. Hey, it goes in the win column no matter how small. :p

Thomas Donlan writes another sky-is-falling piece about Social Security in this week's Barron's. Barron's has been claiming the Social Security (the government provided pension system here in the USA) will fail ever since it first became law. It will always go to the brink, only to be pulled...

Crap. My first losing week in 7 weeks. Specialty Retail has been the leading sector for the last two weeks now, jibing with my analysis that the retail sector is due for a rebound. Not only that, the consumer non-durable sector was the second best performing sector this week - and guess what...

What do you guys think of JCP after all?

Apparently the recent increase in activity was due to an expected new CEO. When it was revealed that the CEO was actually going to go to Target, the stock started falling. I dumped mine at 9.26 yesterday. It's still on my watch list, though.

What's up, randomistas? Saturday night, staying home, drinking beer and reading Barron's. I've only had one losing week in the last twelve! (It still isn't enough to recover the losses from the small cap selloff earlier in the year, though.)

Where is Don Bright these days????

A few years ago he posted about having cancerous tumors removed from his scalp. Maybe he was sick?

What do you guys think of JCP after all?

If it were to spend too much time below 8, I will throw it out. Otherwise I'm holding for the long haul. Back in December it hit 10, then quickly sold off all the way down to 5. Trading was volatile in Feb/Mar, but then calmed down and has risen slowly. I like that slow rise and the fact...
