    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

Take trader 71 or the pit bull - those guys use to account for a lot of the volume on the ES, trader 71 now trades only about twice a day, and the pit bull no longer trades futures - he is selling options premium now. Why did these huge volume movers quit - simple - HFT's own the spread - they...

    Errors of Life

Trading has been a wild ride for sure! Trading does more to the emotions/ego and soul than Heroin could ever do - this is something many shrinks are very keen on. At the end of the day it's just not worth taking myself or my trading to seriously. My largest gains were a lot more luck then...

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

Big deal if some trade has a 7 digit year, many people do this and don't call the press to brag about it. Most end up giving it all back and can never replicate it- just shooting stars. These shooting star kids that never had a job to begin, having borrowed money from their family, inherited...

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

I never heard of trader Dante. A quick look on the web and he has is not showing his ROR yet he is selling lots of books, classes, and mentoring. Very suspect - looks like he has a full time job promoting 'selling the dream'.

Its impossible to be profitable in trading as a retail trader

    How much should you risk?

Average risk per trade....think about it...does that actually mean anything? ___________________________________________________________________________ This is not rocket science. even the laymen should be able to understand this. AVERAGE: single value (as a mean, mode, or median) that...

"A trader needs experience, and they need to pay for it."

Got it - thanks for explaining. I can see how they could perform so well now. You have some game theory tied in -so it makes sense to account for stomping on that equities ROR wall which is something like 20-25%. I trade mostly futures/commodities 75% and equities 25% although my best prior...

    How much should you risk?

For me, 0.5% is good ... up to perhaps 1% for my highest win-rate methods. Agreed! The 0.5-1% is what many of the most long term successful traders use as the average risk per trade. Pro gamblers apply game theory as does many seasoned traders, and some of the best billion + hedge funds...

"A trader needs experience, and they need to pay for it."

Thanks for that run down. The semis have been making huge moves. With the pairs trading I take it you are long on the strongest of the 3 stocks you follow and shorting the weakest? To get the very high returns you must be all with your capital on your trades. Anyway well done!

"A trader needs experience, and they need to pay for it."

Yeah.. hope that it was beginner's luck. I've only just started trading heavily. That's my earnings rate for the last three months, and I'm having a tougher time now. ____________________________________________________________________________ Pardon me for asking - just curious. What type of...

I'm not losing. So far I'm earning 42% annually. ____________________________________________________________________________ I hope you realize that ranks you as one of the best traders on the planet as compared to the 5,000 or so CTA (managed futures & commodities) funds. Now add in you have...

"A trader needs experience, and they need to pay for it."

It's all about risk management, know what to do and when... that's basically your exit strategy, especially important when in the red. _____________________________________________________________________________ Most of the top traders emerged from having blown up a few accounts before they...

IB Data Breakdowns during fast moving market news like OPEC Today

I hate correcting members, but I assume you meant SIPC. Funny, the accounts under $1mm tend to focus on the SIPC limits when the $20mm+ accounts never ask or seemed concerned. ___________________________________________________________________________ I did mean FDIC since the equity accounts...

IB Data Breakdowns during fast moving market news like OPEC Today

5? What benefit do you get from 5? ____________________________________________ Yea 5 is kind of wacky. The idea at the time was to spread out the capital so it is all covered by the FDIC, they have raised it since so I could now reduce to 2-3 accounts.

IB Data Breakdowns during fast moving market news like OPEC Today

I still don't get why so many use IB. I have 5 on-line brokers and IB is my least favorite. The charting + data feed are barely even usable, you have to add a third party platform vendor which is a pain and makes it an expensive and cumbersome broker to use.
