Today was "easier than normal". That feeling will probably only last until I examine the charts from guavaman et al :) . I must confess I find it hard to remain focused for all 81 bars. Hope you all have a nice, warm and sunny weekend. I plan to spend part of it studying flaws and formations...

Here's new version of the fancy bar timer. Minor changes from the precvious version: The bartimer will now show up empty even if there is no market data connection. The bartimer now works with volume charts (showing percentage left). <img...

For example, Spydertrader once wrote: Once Price breaks (by more than a tic or two) a RTL (right trend line) of a channel, that channel is over, done, finished - kaput. I think the general agreement is that once a bar closes outside of the RTL then the channel is done. Hope this helps.

Drewkari, I see you put "notes" on your chart again. They don't make much sense to me so I'm a little curious - what are they for/why are they there?

Spyder, thanks for the clarification, I think that has been an area of confusion for me for a long time (esp the part in italics).

I'm a little confused ... must go check the basics again. Rising dom volume at point 3 or after the point 3? I have a few channels (grey dashed) that I didn't put in because of lower volume the bar following pt3 (there was another one in the morning). Very nice day for learning.

Thank you Avi 8 for the comment on the channel some of us were missing yesterday. FOMC tomorrow.

I see both of us have a down channel for the end of the day. I actually think that channel was invalidated by a BO at 15:15 and replaced by a steeper down. I simply missed that :) .

I forgot to mention that the bartimer is only visible as long as you are connected to a running market feed (be it real or playback). Might be confusing, sorry about that.

The blue (dotted) up that started at 11:15 didn't feel "right". I actually put it in after the green up that started a few bars later. Interesting and fun day apart from that.

I got tired of using the bar timer that comes with NT so I wrote a new one. While slightly off topic, I am posting it to this thread in case someone else would find it useful too. If it's to much off topic please let me know. <img...

    Iterative Refinement

My bad. There's no channel - it's a tape (I always put 1-2-3's in on my channels, and they're fat) but somehow one of the skinny lines are wrong. I had not drawn a new channel at this point in time. Sorry about that, cnms2. Yes, I know :) . For some reason it hasn't stuck and my way of handling...

    Iterative Refinement

How would a professional spyder/hershey-system trader think at this point in time? In my mind (and I'm not the professional :) ) there are thoughts like "is the red down still valid but widening... are we in a new up with a pt3 that keeps fanning out... maybe that wasn't really a B2B..."...

    Iterative Refinement

I though the 2nd bar was "increasing" it's low  . But as you write, they're IBGS's and I will make a deeper study/search. On the other hand I would really like all our charts to look the same as we follow the same rules (as long as we interpret them the same). Thanks for looking!

    Iterative Refinement

I'm clearly missing something here. An example is in the snippet below where I've put part of guavamans gaussians and mine side by side (and of course I assume guavaman is doing the right thing :) ). The fat green line marks where the channel makes a new low. Because of this I continued my...
