how did people get it in their heads that long housing is an investment

Because most people are told from a young age, "A house is a great investment. They never lose value." Those parents are now $100k flipped on delinquent mortgages. It's also because the average American has absolutely no concept of money and investment. Owning a house is a status symbol in...

Good place to heckle and shame the newb (fx)

Well, started the morning missing the down move on USD/CAD that I was scoping out for a half hour. Just one more case in which I saw it, knew it was good, but failed to pull the trigger because fear got in the way. Ended up being a solid short-term move, might even end being good for the day...

Who is on the other side of these trades?

    That makes perfect sense, thanks.

Who is on the other side of these trades?

But that's just the point, you didn't have to pick the bottom in March. People are coming to this party at the 10th hour and still making plenty of money. My friend sold his FNM at $1.80 yesterday, who the hell bought that?

Who is on the other side of these trades?

There's a difference between sheeple and a trader that follows a trend. A trader gets in towards the start and knows when to call it quits. The sheeple are the Jonny-come-lately's that buy near the top and are left holding the bag. I suppose the other posters are right though, there doesn't...

Pretty boring day, IMO. Didn't want to force more small trades in a choppy, going nowhere market so I enjoyed the day instead. Don't feel like doing anything now, and so ends the day. Week 2, Day 1: +49.6 pips

Who is on the other side of these trades?

So with all the world going long the equity markets - funds, banks, retail, and even the sheeple - and making the fortunes of their lives right now... who's on the other side of these trades? For the first time in... ever?... the sheeple are the ones making a killing, rather than the ones...

Sold GPD/USD - 1.64299 8.9 pips Just a quick, counter-trend scalp. Pushing a little higher now, but I'm happy with what I got. Will watch for retest of support. What a boring day so far...

New week of madness.... Been a boring day so far. Waking up after 9:00EST = lots of missed moves. Oh well. Starting out the week with a crappy/iffy trade: Long GBP/USD - 1.64210 x1

    Oil price effect on equities

lol winner! Thanks for the morning laugh. As for getting in on oil. Don't you think it's just a tad late at this point? Even missed all the decent pull backs on USO.

    Oil price effect on equities

I really don't know a thing about marco issues like this, so I figured I'd ask some people that might. With cracking higher today, it makes me wonder... at what point to do people say, "Hmm... I think this is going to start hindering any hope of a recovery. Maybe the future isn't so bright."...

Well I gotta say, all in all this has been a shitty day. A few more minutes in both trades would have netted me some massive returns and hit both of my profit targets... instead I leave after getting news spike raped out of over 1/3 of my weekly gains. What sucks more is that I've been waiting...

Hey look at that, I'd be break even right now... EDIT: Oh wait... now I'd be up... That's aggrevating. EDIT: 47 pips up now... banging... head... on... wall

Missed out on that AUD/USD trade hardcore. Glad to see old Benny still has his finger on the happy button. He say's it's all better and... it's all better. Short GBP/USD .1.65888 x1 First lesson in not taking a position around news time. That got ugly and you gotta love those "rate...

Sold - AUD/USD 0.83484 6 pips I can hate myself later. I can't stand struggling trades and I'm tired of watching this candle (which, btw, is sticky, laggy, and wrong about 50% of the time) get shot down. It'll explode upward now that I'm out though. Yes, I'm a whiner, but no one ever...

Get ready for new ES highs

You know, it's funny but true. I told myself no more plays on the overall market, but by damn if we break through this top here then I'm buying a DOW tracking ETF and riding it into the heavens.
