ES 20090415 Not sure if the light blue "thing" (p3 12:45) decelerates the olive to become an actual traverse. This would allow magenta p2 to sit inside what was the blue traverse (now a channel) but that would imply that we were building a short channel from 13:05 and that is clearly not the...

    Iterative Refinement

As has been stated before, the principles described in this journal apply to any market in any time frame providing that sufficient liquidity exists. The gaussian behaviour on SPY will be no different.

It all depends upon whether or not the sequences at your trading level have completed.

    Technical Strategy

On your chart for yesterday you had 15:35 EST annotated as a traverse p3 short. Today you changed it to an unannotated short FF traverse (orange) and I presume moved p3 to 09:35. Could you explain your reasoning? Thanks

There seem to be quite a few different interpretations of the gaussian levels.

The attached chart from Spyder on 20081118 shows an example of a "truncated" 2nd dom traverse used to construct a red short channel. The chart clearly shows pt2 of the second magenta dom short traverse at 14:35 lying inside the previous non dom blue long traverse. It also appears that pt3 at...

    Iterative Refinement

Are you implying that the 3rd traverse is just truncated? If so, it would mean that pt2 is inside the previous traverse at 14:10 and this cannot be so. I suspect that the traverses are incorrectly drawn. Perhaps someone who can see this more clearly would post their chart....

I was expecting a second long dom traverse after 14:30 but we appear to have started a new short dom traverse.

No, you are getting confused. We need decreasing red then increasing red in order to form our r2r that ends at p2. We also need increasing red after p3 in order to confirm the p3 of the short traverse.

I think that perhaps the "simple" answer is that we had not yet formed a p2 at 10:35 or 10:45. The required "decr to incr red" occurs 10:35 and 10:40, after which we get LL's until the p2 at 11:00. I tend to agree that 10:30 to 11:00 is a chubby tape. I may be wrong......
