    YHOO before earnings

"show me a tech stock where insiders don't sell. and then show me a stock where an insider buys. OSTK... should be a screaming buy by that logic. 1mil shares purchased.

s&p just made intermediate term top @ 1440.1

Another month of consumer confidence plummeting, while market soars. Great indicator for more upside and consumer spending. 100% up room to go. http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/24-04062007-1326139.html

    The Death of TA???

should add an extra plot of the %daily change. This way, you can quickly tell which chart is random and which is real. The real ones have large one day anomalies in % change(leptokurtic), whereas random ones have pretty even distribution of values(gaussian). I would bet that given this optional...

How much is the going rate for someone to build a computer?

I've built some. Not worth it IMHO. Costs way too much for individual parts. Also, I had one where the motherboard wasn't good, and once you put the CPU in with the thermal adhesive it is a pain to take it back out without screwing up the pins (at least with AMD it was). I had to manually...

The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

Landis, Nice call on that last impulse up to complete the B wave. Now if it would only head back down to complete the C, I think you would make elliot proud...

U.S. stocks seen falling in coming week

earnings yield? Since when do they start looking at earnings yield vs. bonds? Last I checked all my standard texts compared dividend yields:confused: From sep 2006: http://www.businessweek.com/investor/content/sep2006/pi20060905_559905.htm?campaign_id=rss_topStories "What's more, the S&P...

The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

I posted in wrong thread, I suppose my reply should have been posted here. --------------------------------------------- "Look for a 31-32 point rally in the SPX off of yesterday's lows at 1414.05 over the next 3 days that targets the 1445 area that finishes off this "B" wave retracement...

s&p just made intermediate term top @ 1431.8

"Look for a 31-32 point rally in the SPX off of yesterday's lows at 1414.05 over the next 3 days that targets the 1445 area that finishes off this "B" wave retracement before heading back down." I pretty much agree with most here that the next leg down has begun. I gave up on elliot some time...

    Fractional dimension index

Ok, I have the basic formula. R/S=(a*N)^H FDI = 2 - H Can anyone explain how to apply this formula to a real life stock? Say ebay or appl for example.

    Fractional dimension index

Anyone know how to derive the FDI? Seems like a useful tool in latest S&C mag. However, I would also like to see longer term periods, and a greater assortment of stocks covered. I get the basic part about trending/trading range vs. 1.5, but I am looking for specific formulas to derive the...

    A Daytraders Fate

That sounds like a pretty good achievement to start out. Hard to say how much was luck and planned. But, looking at your history, I would guess that you were trading less frequently due to pattern day trade restrictions, which helped you get there. Speeding up your frequency after getting...

Look At These Trace Charts Comparing Now and 1966

"You don't even have to go that far to see self similarities in fractal nature of stocks. Here's 6mo bull periods of 0ct-Apr last year (transparent) with 6 mo period aug-feb into this year overlaid. See any similarities? Attachment: nassim1.jpg" Looking more like that overlay...

Your post Fed meeting sentiment tomorrow

Shot a lot higher than i expected. Good thing for stops:D Gotta start reevaluating charts and economic textbooks. Revised chapter: Worries about inflation are good for the forward looking economy, numbskull. 100% up room no risk. woo hoo.

Your post Fed meeting sentiment tomorrow

"Firstly, explodes upwards on relief news (due to supposed relief of no rate hike, even though that was supposedly already factored in today's rally). Elliot Waves

pretty much a waste of time IMHO. Just memorize the basic pattern if your interested. Add it to your arsenal, like descending triangle, flag, etc... No sense in studying entire books on it, as it is ultimately subjective. Should be a chapter in a larger TA patterns book.
