Is trading 30 lot considered big play? If it is, maybe I am dreaming too much... I am thinking about trading at least 50 lots when I am ready to quite my day job.... Should I lower my bar?

I thought you can only trade upto the amt they show on the platform. For IB, 5million at clip is the max size. Maybe I am wrong... I have never used ECN type.

Would you switch to spot if it becomes regulated as future? I think many future traders would due to more liquidity.

I just found out that you can trade upto 50million with FXCM. I think that is the highest number I have seen so far. Looks like they have the largest liquidity among retail brokers. Can any other broker (including ECN type) handle 50millioin at clip?

Let's say the broker is pure ECN. There are buch of major banks or liquidity provider in opther side who qoutes. If I win from trading, where is that money coming from? whoever I closed my trade with? let's say I opened and closed with UBS and I made 100$. Does that mean UBS lost...

I know the spot forex has been OTC market from the beginning but I don't see any reason why it should be like that forever. Is it systematically impossible to become centeralized as future? It will be disaster for MM like FXCM or Onada but the market is not for MMs.

I totally agree with you. That's why I mentioned "I am talking about the retail level acct size". If I have 100K in my acct and the realistic goal is 20% of 100K, I wouldn't trade FX. I'd rather put 100K in mutual fund.

I know it happens a lot and it happens most of times when somebody trade with over leverage. If you have decent system and if you are trained properly, I think 10:1 leverage is more than enough to make way better than 20%. I am talking abour just retail level acct size less than 1mio...

I have read somewhere that if somboday can make 20% of consistent annual prfot, it is considered outstanding. Is "20%" meaning 20% of your trading size or your acct size? If the 20% annaul profit of acct size is considered outstanding for spot forex, I think we are all wasting time here...

As I read thru some threads in this forum and also other forums, I have noticed some traders were put in manaul due to scalping or picking. And the rep from some retail MM explained in detail what the reasons were. One of the reason was ultra-short term trading (in and out within minutes)...
