    with banks and institutional money..you get like no less than 10 million in capital to manage or trade. so if you make 1% is $10,000/day trading with banks funds or firms fund. that is real prop trading.. very traders have $100,000 or none would put 1 million in brokerage firm in capital...

    these firms require a deposit to cover your losses becaus there software does not close accounts after maximum loss... which is why the firms ask for circuit breakers. these firms are highly leveraged daytraders...so a flash crash can easily lose $$$ in seconods if stock gaps up or gaps...

    the nyse,cme used to be non-profit exhanges and owned and ruled made by brokers of the exchange up til the late 90's as for the nasdaq it's free for all no rules exchange since the 70's... since the nyse, cme is now a for profit exchange,,the rules are reduced and now it's like the nasdaq...
