Morning Trading Question for Seasoned Traders

I don't consider it rubbish at all. I trade stocks and there is more liquidity during certain times of the day. That is very important. You can be in the right trade but if there isn't liquidity to exit...

A real profitable Trading Room with ALERTS??????

I disagree with that blanket statement. I'll agree that it applies in general but I do know some very successful traders who after a decade or so of success have taken in newbies and showed them the ropes with no strings attached. For most people, money is the most important but it's not the...

Who is a professional daytrader in this forum?

If he's only talking about prop trading, then why did he make this statement? "for swing trading and overnight...SEC margin is maximum 50% margin " Prop trading is not restricted to 50% for overnights.

How do I backup my emails?

You can back up your Yahoo email. You go to mail options. Then Archive. Enter the folder you want and the dates. It says that you can import this file into Outlook Express. I'm not sure if you can do this in the new format. Might have to revert back to the Classic version to do this.

    New system needed

I've had a good experience with them. Of course, they ship a complete computer. It's the fastest computer I've ever had. It's expensive and my only complaint is that the vid cards aren't the greatest. The tech support is helpful. I think the best feature on their systems is that if you...

    Vista = Windows ME.

This site is for traders. For the purpose of trading, Vista sucks. Its slow and it's unstable with the trading platform that I'm using. Most techs that I've spoken to say that their software should run on it but they won't support it. It's even slow when running something simple like MS...

Rick Santelli--Assertion--All CL Have To Take Physical Delivery?

That's not entirely true. There are energy trading firms out there that do hold futures to delivery. They offset by cash/forward contracts or EFPs.

    Fios or T1?

The OP was not talking about a point to point T1, I'm assuming. A PtP T1 costs about $400-$800 per month. A T1 to the internet is more comparable to FIOS/Cable. You can not compare with PtP.

    Fios or T1?

FIOS is so much cheaper than a T1 to internet. There's no reason not to get FIOS.

Who is losing money on the street ?

So, for example, any trader who uses covered calls as part of his strategy to hedge is NOT a trader (as one example)....hmm. I think many would beg to differ. Many hedgers are traders. Every energy company that has hedgers who are traders who have a material affect on their P&L.

Who is losing money on the street ?

Isn't the thread named "Who is losing money on the street ?" The original question was posed in a way asking what traders were losing. Where did it specify a FUTURES contract? Just because there is someone who lost on contract doesn't make him a losing trader. PERIOD.

Who is losing money on the street ?

I disagree. Whether it's a commodities or index futures, it's not necessarily a zero sum gain. Futures markets started up as an instrument to hedge commodities prices. The buyer or seller could be long/short the commodity in the cash (spot) market. Therefore, the result is not...

    Day Trading using EVDO Card

I use VZW EVDO rev a when I travel. I have daytraded on it with my full setup. It's not ideal compared to what I have in my office but it does the job. I have my execution and separate charting software up for 12 hours at a time.

    Naked Short Selling

That is not correct. Shorting by any variation is when you think the stock is going down. Naked short selling is when you short without the borrow/locate. The shorting is not the problem - it's totally legal. The word "naked" in naked short selling is what makes it illegal.
