hi moose, i also was a prop equity trader..started in 1999 and traded prop for about 3 years and made the move this year into trading my own account (futures).. for me, it has honestly been a wonderful experience transitioning from prop to trading my own capital. sure, i miss the bp that...

What will be the end result of the elimation of bullets be on pro firms/traders?

here's a question for the prop traders and those who know about prop firms: are there going to be problems getting out of longs due to a firm's aggregate or net position on a stock? at the prop chop shop i work at, we've been experiencing HUGE order entry problems. couldn't get out of long...

How can you calculate the slope of a moving average?

yeah. be careful when using slope..like lobster said, the slope is relative...meaning it is NOT invariant to changes in scale...perhaps trend lines of the MA would help u out more because the line drawn by the intersection of two or more points are invariant under changes of scale....

    no cap needed

    SpecialistMan - by John Bogle

while i agree with you for the most part, i think it's unfair to characterize it as boiling down to either being able to make money or not, via the specialist system, as the deciding factor in whether grievances are legitimate. the specialists are closer to a group of thieves than a group of...

    Anything similar to Reuters?

yup...LA manager went back to boca...i agree..really odd not to have an office in a city that almost revolves around trading. BULLS/BEARS? c'mon, u need to have a presence there..no matter how hard times get, u need to keep looking for new talent, new inventory..leaving chicago is a mistake..

    Anything similar to Reuters?

hey, is this carlos from the defunct L.A. schony office? i wouldn't be surprised if schony cut down to 100. I'm one of the LA remote traders and am pretty sure they don't like having anyone trade remotely. Needless to say, my head will probably be on chopping block soon if what you say is true...
