Poll: Will Trump implode or be impeached within the next 4 years?

I'm trying to keep score on the post-election leftist meltdown: Nitro imploded around Thanksgiving. Fred Snowflake spent a month in the psych ward. Ricter drank himself into a stupor, lost his password and came back as "Here4Money". Sound about right?

Marc Faber says "avalanche of selling" coming

True. Talk about a "pain trade". Gold and silver's move lower during the QE2-QE3 must have had people pulling their hair out. Just a relentless drive lower (a mirror opposite of stocks at the time).

Marc Faber says "avalanche of selling" coming

There are some grain charts testing multi-decade lows. Wheat comes to mind off the top of my head.

Marc Faber says "avalanche of selling" coming

We've all been there. If/when you want to go bearish and do it with conviction, you almost always have a very narrow window to make it pay off. That is why it is such a difficult trade. You can take a look at every "bullish leaning" event, time of month, time of day, overnight, etc...and then...

Most Swedes recognise immigration is necessary to sustain economic growth

Very thought provoking post. I agree with you on all counts. This is the very reason why Universal Basic Income is beginning to appear in various media outlets. The "machines" will (and are) becoming the future reality. It will be the developer and his team of bots reaping in the dough while...

Marc Faber says "avalanche of selling" coming

Mostly I'm just using 2016 as a guide. The only real downside we saw following the lows in February (600 S&P points lower than here) were Brexit and election night. i.e. they are essentially binary type events. September 9th was basically the only intra-day serious decline and that was...

    The S&P has topped

You doing alright Bone? Seriously, the over reaction to the OP's call is getting ridiculous.

Might want to take your own advice Dave.

    IBKR tightening margin

It's a very lucrative source of revenue for these firms...Goose the margin requirements and the auto-liquidate algo can clean up...Heck, think about the money rolling in on August 24, 2015.

Marc Faber says "avalanche of selling" coming

If recent market history is any guide, you can expect it to either happen in one trading session or not at all.

    The S&P has topped

I'll put my money on Bone and PW...It still might follow the pattern from early Feb with a test in the high 2360's. (but that would also hit a Volente profit target)... No question it's a micro prediction. I never read anything more into his post (as in long long term top).

    The S&P has topped

The market is acting just like it did in late Jan-early Feb after the first touch around 2300. 35-36 pt pullback before the ramp. I'd probably watch closely when ES gets down around 2365-66 (the exact level you mentioned), plus that would be a re-test of the SPX breakout level. It definitely...

How to leg into a no loss Iron condor

In other words, legging one of the vertical spreads. Besides, it's a bit more fun and challenging.

    The S&P has topped

Considering the context of this advance, it is relatively brave.

    The S&P has topped

Volente has made some very good calls (checked some of them in the archives). A lot of this bickering arises over what defines a "top". Bone makes good points obviously, but I don't believe Volente is waiting for a pullback down to 2000 to take off the trade. "Macro" it's been a bull market...

Still have the "always bullish" NFP ahead of us.

Lack of volatility in ES getting brutal

Good point. Go back just 4 months ago during the Trump/Clinton debate and look at those ranges.

Lack of volatility in ES getting brutal

It most closesy resembles the halcyon days of 2013-14 (QE in full bore). A market that just slowly climbs the stairs, day after day, week after week. Even then there were more pullbacks.

Lack of volatility in ES getting brutal

I hear ya man...Seriously, ET always has someone who will read your post and reply "stop bitching, stop whining, yada, yada, yada". There was absolutely nothing wrong with stating the obvious facts in front of all of us. The ranges have contracted, the price action is spotty and many traders...
