Coinbase Gets Approved to Offer Crypto Futures Trading in US

Market or at least some thought they had green light for their futures exchange to accept US customers first (hence the sharp green premarket). Imo it's just a FCM now like so many others, so they can offer trading Futures such as the bitcoin futures already listed on a futures exchage (eg...

0% capital gains tax in Switzerland versus business income

not true, you pay taxes on the net winning. And if you have losing years you can deduct them from future winnings up to 7 years forward. It's basically just a one person business (Einzelfirma). Even more if you have other businesses or a job you can deduct your trading losses (as professional...

Lurking a bit on Twitter lately and it seems like everyone's getting it wrong.

Imo there is no market direction guru, as this is just impossible consistently. I follow some for entertaining purposes. Two real traders that do post PnL and not just handsight garbage like many who try to sell something are: https://twitter.com/KrisVerma88 https://twitter.com/madaznfootballr...

IB billionaire Thomas Peterffy suspends money to DeSantis

i highly respect Peterffy, he is imo one of the few who really knows their business. Although no more as an executive i think he still has high influence on IBKRs business decision, which is a good thing for us customers.

does IBKR auto sell your 0d stuff at 3:30pm ET?

i think only if you cannot cover the margin of the resulting position. I traded ES 0DTE before and had no problem holding to 4:00 and getting assigned ES Futures. ES 0DTE are auto exercised directly after 4pm without the option to lapse

Breaking up a BWB before expiration

When you close the short put you spend money. If you spend more than your initial credit on the BWB (which i would expect to be the case most of the time) you now have a position of two long puts at a debit (initial credit for BWB - amount spent on buying back short puts). If you happen to pay...

How to determine if options are cheap or expensive using historical data

Hi there, just plain historical volatility data and its distribution gives you an idea of the underlyings future volatility. However for the current implied volatility i doubt you can derive if an option is over-/undervalued... as i would consider them fair priced. Implied volatility for a...
