    2015 market performance

It is not like 2007 and it is not like 2001. At this point of time it is more like 2011. Yet, it is still not 2011. In 2011 the bad market performance was caused by a deep correction. In 2015 the bat market performance was the result of 1-year side-way range trend on the major market indexes...

Will we have dipper than in August correction?

And in August the S&P 500 dropped about 19% from the highest high. Deeper than in August correction does not mean market crash. The highest daily volume on the S&P 500 in August was 4.6 B shares. It is nothing for the market. During the correction in August of 2011 we saw 7 B shares traded per...

Will we have dipper than in August correction?

I do not think anything happens during the holiday when trading usually goes on low volume. The volatility is rising, so, I would say, as of now, the odds are good to see the indexes below August's support in January of 2016. If volatility stops rising than we will not see it or it will be delayed.

    AAPL

When you see daily volume on Apple at least above 300 M (as on January 24,25 of 2013), then it will be a time to consider buying. That will mean that big money are starting to buy this stock and they may push it up. Until then we may expect only bounces up. Watch volume to see when the action...

More recent breadth charts for the NYSE and S&P 500. As pf now, we have more bearish stocks which are traded closer to their 52-week lows than bullish stocks (traded closer to their 52-week highs) and the number of stocks dropping to their 52-week lows is on the rise. See the NYSE High-Low...

    Margin Debt

Agree, we still do not know October's numbers. If October's numbers are up then it is indeed lagging indicator for bouncing up. Still, it started to decline two months before correction in September. The same in 2011, it started to decline 3 months before a correction. On the other hand when...

T/A Fails Time and Time Again - Why?

TA does not fail, a trader who misses something may fail. In many cases it happens when market changes its behavior. As an examples, when market becomes more volatile, used technical indicators may start to fail because price starts to change its direction faster and stronger. All you need to...

Using Elliott wave analysis in a practical way

I do not understand why nobody talks about role of volume analysis in Elliot wave theory. Using volume surges (increases in volume) as a confirmation of the beginning or end of a way, not just confirms the theory but also may explain processes behind a wave. As an example, a strong volume...
