AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

mark1, have you tried using the HA charts? They are usually much smarter than I am. 80% of the time I would be ahead if I held on to a trade until there was a closed opposite color bar.

Right on Mark, With Anek's help I now see progressions setting all day, just have to have the discipline to wait until they say "HELLO". I has certainly taken me a while to be able to separate the wheat from the chafe. Turkey day here, Best to all. Don

Einstein, Your question is one that I think we all have had. Simple put, the trendbreak and "new" trend down may just be a correction wave for a higher timeframe. Anek has suggested keeping an anchor chart up to observe the bigger picture. On it you may see that the new trend has pullbacked...

Mark1, I read some of your earlier post and it seems you were doing quite well with equities. What are you doing differently with futures?

Very little chop, support and resistance levels were honored without much heat. Trendlines were good. There was clean followthrough on normal pattern setups.

You must have caught that last run up. I bailed at +25 or resistance, you must have riden to the end of the line. Nice! I have a hard time following the HA, but it is usually best to wait for a color change. I typically exit toooooo early.

    A. If you are stll around, or anyone else, do you play the morning gaps, as a non-AHG play? If so do you look at the initial A/D for guidance on whether it will close or not? or any other data for guidance? D.

    A. Is it just a discretionary interpretation on whether to call a formation an "M" or a double top, a "W" or a double bottom? Seems like the same taco, with beans, guacomole, rice, meat, cheese and sauce all just mixed a little bit differently, still the same meal, or am I missing something?

Mark, Thanks for posting your charts. Looks like buying trendline hits in a downtrend were bad voodo for you today. What is the reason for entering these types of trades against the trend? Are you playing it as scalping to opposite side of a channel? D.

Mark1, Thanks for the post. Clearly you know the ropes. When you play a triangle break out, what is your entry signal? Triangles eat my lunch. Don

jy. Read the journal. It takes two Higher lows or two lower highs to start a trend. The next (third hit on a trend) is the possible start of an entry. Hope this was what you wanted.

Daniel, You need to read the whole thread. Indicators not based on price action are the handi work of the DEVIL!, sugar coated and delivered on silver platters by his desciples to the young, ignorant, trusting, desperate and greedy among us. But on the good side, they sure do add color to...

IMHO, There is no subsititue for real time screen time, but that is only available at certain times, and you may not be there then. Homework, reviewing the days activities with time to analyze and work through the setups is also valuable, and for me a part of every day, much more on weekends...
