Oily, Trade to the upside failure is market telling you something?

FON, Exactly. In hindsite it is always easy to see the chop area. In realtime, on Friday if a trade up failed, then that is the first sign of a starting range/chop. Unless that failed high is taken out, then not more long trades. Just my way.

You just stay out of sideways, choppy markets. That is where the indicator followers give it all back. Also, if you can get them to admit it, the folks who use indicators in some manner and are profitable, also rely on good old support/resistance action as the backbone of their trading.

Well, I am not an indicator supporter for trading signals, entries or exits, but I reluctantly do admit that used in a certain way, they can be good trend filters, if that is your ballywick. Just a crutch for weak minds like mine, but it works for me.

Riddler, Regarding the bifocals. As was mentioned earlier, there has been an alternative for some time now. They are called progressive lens. The prescription varies as you look through them from forward to down. It takes your brain a bit to get used to them, but now I don't even notice.

I think your assumptions on trend are incorrect. There could be a 50/50 red and green count and the market could still be trending.

5000 vol chart of NQ showing consolidations. This is not the best action for trading. If you miss the jumps between consolidation areas the potential for trading in chop certainly seems more possible.
