If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

DB, On those 8 or so pullbacks, what would be your method of entry. Trailing the pullback bars, entering on a breakout of the previous high or a hit on a resistance level?

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

Closing in a little bit on a more concise point. "if the trade doesn't go your way," A common approach to quantify the above is to set a stop just above/below the last swing point. A more aggressive approach is to bail on the first bar that shows some retracement that puts you in the...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

"If the bad ones reverse"? Not quite sure what that means. Would it be correct to say that in general, if a trade does not go your way pretty quickly, then you exit?

On higher volume reversal bar at 10:11? It also made a double bottom with 9:54 bar.

Forty, When the Jackals start coming around, best to just ignore them or thank them for their interest and input and let them go. Don't be baited into justifications. Most are losers with big egos that can not stand to see someone else succeed. Especially when they have been on ET for...

    Help, I've been chopped!

ND, I'm surprised you did not take, or mention this beautiful bottom right after your short. It was off of a stronger support pivot. Just kidding a little. Really just wanted to post a nice PA setup for surf. :p

Smurf, you really need to quit equating TA with simple support/resistance Price Action. And you should not use NoDoji and JH in the same sentence. .....unless your example is of apples and oranges. :p

    Help, I've been chopped!

From your comments you seem to favor moving a stop up quickly to a smaller ledge or swing rather than let a test hit an initial stop. This is in contrast to what many offer as a mantra of not moving the initial stop, until a new swing high or low has been made. Is this correct?

Please do not associate NoDoji with JH.

    1. Never get too smart to learn from others. 2. Never think you can learn it all from a book. There are books on golf. So you think you can read them and be Tiger Woods? All the other things that you lack that come from years of experience are what I call the "art" of the trade. Not...

I did not make these trades, but what would have been your warnings signs not to take them?

    1. There is no "free ride" 2. If you trade through chop and get continually stopped out at full stop, shame on you. 3. You never know how far price will run, so 1/2 is meaningless. Again, it is an art.

Ain't so simple as it sounds. 1. What is the timeframe. 2 What is your definition of a swing/pivot/high/low. 3. Is there a preceding structure/pattern/#bars, etc. as a prerequisite? 4. What would make a potential point void? 5. If using hh or hl or lh or ll, what are the...

Surf, I hate to even respond to your posts, but so that others don't miss the key point regarding you random entry. True, no one knows the outcome of price movement at any time. True, support/ resistance levels are frequent turning points. True, you can be profitable playing those areas...

    hmm.no edges in the markets

I am sorry to intrude on such an elevated discussion, but it seems to me, that Mr. Market surfer lumps quite a lot into his less than affirmative views if TA. If he would look at PA separately, he may gain some insight.. FWIW.
