At least he has the balls to make a prediction in public, unlike all of you critics.

    ES vs YM

Not sure, but in experiments I've found them to average out to about the same $ profit or loss over a large number of trades (the experiment was to record the prices of both at the same time at both the opening and closing of a trade).

    What the F#@&

As the last poster intimated, the market's job is to head fake as many traders as possible, in order to separate them from their money. It really is that simple. I'm not sure who or what collusion drives this, but you'd have to be blind (or in denial) not to notice it.

    $1k Opening Balance Trading ES#

Nothing wrong with a 35% return since June, nothing at all. To make it big, all you need is a positive edge and compounding.

    Should I quit?

I second that. I found that I was a crappy discretionary trader, for all the same reasons you mention. I decided to develop a system, and run it automated, day in, day out, and it's working well for me both emotionally and financially. Auto trading can still be hard psychologically. There are...

    "Always be fading"?

They aren't completely random. They're just more random than most people would like.

    "Always be fading"?

What he said. If a system doesn't suit your personality, you ain't gonna have the stickability to be successful with it.

    ES qestion

Just look at the typical bid & ask sizes. You could probably put in an order sized for half of those numbers without moving the market (into the hundreds of cars).

does anyone only trade the YM,ES in the afternoon?3-4:00Pm New York time

I trade YM all the time, including that period. Comments ... hmmm ... it often seems like you see the high or low of the day, on a non-trending day, around 1-2 PM EST. So, if it's a non-trending day, there's money to be made on the reversal. The probabilities then are at their highest in the...

You're fooling no-one, ST. Credit us with at least a little intelligence. As long as there's an Internet, there will people who troll forums.

SnP TO RECORD HIGHS BY YEAR END

I agree a lot of stuff seems to be priced in, and that we have hit a key level of support. However, saying no-one cares about housing, recessions, etc. demonstrates total cluelessness.

Trading is Bad for your Mental Health

Trading is extremely difficult psychologically, and also addictive. That's why GA has sections specifically for day traders. The only way I have found to end-run around the mental difficulties it presents is to develop a mechanical, non-predictive system. That way, I don't have the stress of...
