    Butterfly on CCU April

Just thought I'd give another recommendation on CCU. This instead involves doing a credit butterfly, implying that CCU will move (and volatility will increase). The following trade can be done for a $2.19 credit: Selling the $32.50 June call Buying the $35.00 call Selling the $37.50...

look at daily charts of xom, sun, oih, vlo

I find that XOM always tends to pull back at these 95+ levels. I sold the 90/95 June call spread for $3.45 today before the FOMC minutes, to find it worth $2.80 at the close. Looking for target of $1.00 on this to buy back.

    Dealing with low-volume options classes

I need to do some high volume (think between 100 and 200 contracts) spread transactions in stocks like RMBS, R, APC, TM, etc. What do you think the best way of doing this? Putting the trade on over a few weeks by doing 10-lots each day? Exposing the whole size giving more price improvement...

Can anyone explain this broker response?

That response sure does sound fishy. Why would they need to build a basket, unless they actually went ahead and individually bought the 500 stocks that make up the SPY, according to their weight and all in the index. However, I doubt that is true. File a complaint with FINRA. I did this...

    S&P E-Mini Order Question

If you're intra-day trading the ES, you can easily get filled at the market on usually more than 500 contracts. Constantly I see bids/asks of 500, so if you send a limit in at that bid/ask price (bid for selling immediately/ask for buying immediately), you can easily get filled.

Is CME starting Economic futures? (other than NFP)

I've seen news about Non-Farm-Payroll futures getting started but it looks from here like there are a plethora of other futures products on economic data coming out (including CPI, ISM, etc) Will these be available to us or will they be OTC large deriviative contracts (the margins look...

    Butterfly on CCU April

Well, the original CCU trade for the April expiration was found by the OP, who unfortantely did not put the trade in. I did but only with one contract. I use the Options Analysis screen at the top of EliteTrader, and saw CCU pop up as a high-vol vs. historical, so I modeled some additional...

    Butterfly on CCU April

Trade worked again! CCU has been turning out to be a great trade. Did the above 22.5/32.5/42.5 July butterfly for $3.00 debit, sold all 20 of them today for $6.60. Good job and thanks for the tip!

Privacy Assist Premier service from Bank of America

I had this service. Not worth it IMO, went with Privacy Guard instead. Much better service (better monitoring) and no snail mail stuff.

    CBOE Floor

Yeah, the CBOE is still a great place. They are a little lax on their visitation policies, unlike the CME and CBOT, so I'm sure if you contact someone over there you may be able to take a tour on the floor.

    CBOE Floor

I remember them saying they execute more than 94% of their orders electronically, yet 40% of their volume is still done in the pits. Keep in mind orders executed on the floor may count as electronic trades as they are matched within the CBOEdirect program. The only way to count the open...

Options on CL Futures FOR DUMMIES

Nope, an futures option is just for one contract of the underlying. So, one option on CL would be an underlying 1,000 barrels of crude.

Is a PPT-like or currency-type intervention a feasible option for oil?

All we need to do is raise rates by 100 basis points and have the Fed say, hey, we're wrong about inflation and that is what we need to worry about. The economic stimulus checks will be going directly to GAS! I walked home today (something I have been doing for 11 years as a way of exercise)...

    es us ec s commissions

$6 a side? That's pretty bad. You can negotiate this down to $2.30 or less with little volume for the ES. Go to Interactive Brokers where you can get that price no matter the volume.

    Euronext quotes on OptionOracle?

Go to the Config menu and then where it says "Online Servers & Stock Exchange Selection", change the setting from US 1 to the Dynamic Eurex selection (or any other one for that matter).

You have 14 minutes to get short...

Oh well. Had a stop at B/E, slippage caused me to buy at the market to close out -0.25 points. Not as bad as it could have been!

You have 14 minutes to get short...

Exactly. Looks like a bad start to me. I am so far good with 4 point profit! Look how crazy that 1 minute ES chart is. We'll see in 4 minutes.

    fed just added more liquidity

They've done this before. It means the jobs report is going to be HORRIBLE! Look at ES Futures this morning, pump and dump.

You have 14 minutes to get short...

Ahead of the jobs report! Especially with this nice tick up, I'd position short. Short 2 ES at 1416.50 :D

    Butterfly on CCU April

This might be even better: Change the strikes up to 22.50/32.50/42.50 and you get max profit of $690, profit of $25 if deal goes through, and lower break-even is $25.56, around or lower than the 52week low. I'll be putting this one on tomorrow depending on pricing.
