    IB: order ticket too big?

I updated my standalone TWS to the latest (Build 862.9a) and I now see OCA on the Misc tab in compact view.

    IB: order ticket too big?

I must be blind - I don't see it, all I see on Order Ticket/Misc is these 4 sections: Volatility Hedge Delta Reference Price Type Stock Price Monitoring

    Closed-end Fund Income Investing

Ditto, I love this thread and have done very well with some of your CEF's suggestions. Coach, can I ask if you considered HIX as well as HIF and if so why did you choose HIF?

    IB: order ticket too big?

Yes, the top line is the market line, the bottom column header is the order line. You can re-arrange the order to determine how they stack. [B] Yes, I don't think think the rapid order entry area is configurable (if that's what you mean) but you can place an order directly from the main "grid"

    IB: order ticket too big?

You can add the OCA column to the main TWS screen (Menu Page -> Layout) I agree it is a problem (OCA being cutoff at the bottom of the order ticket window and not being available on the compact view of the same) when running at 1280 x 1024 (or lower resolutions)

    5K to 5 BILLION

Frankly I don't even understand what your "idea" is. Basically you are advocating doubling your money every year with one stock but you have provided no meat to this thread. All you have done is provided some arbitrary numbers, $5k, one stock per year, 25 times. So what? Nothing you...

    5K to 5 BILLION

Would you have started this thread if DTV was flat or down right now? Do you think that being up 20% in this rising market is anything extraordinary? Will you remember to come back here and declare defeat in Aug 07 when DTV hasn't doubled? Good luck doubling your money in an extended bear...

Trader ID: Does the specialist know you are the guy....

9000 keystrokes a minute = 150 keystrokes per second (average). Not just amazing, its impossible, by at least one order of magnitude. I call BS on this.

MBT - Please fix your quote servers!

MBT - Everytime the market gets busy your quote server disconnects: Let me save you the trouble of blaming me: (1) Its not my internet connection, I have a 15Mbps pipe downstream and plenty of spare bandwidth (2) Its not my PC - cpu utilization was low, plenty of memory I have eSignal...

Online hackers, fraud, etrade, ameritrade, etc.

 Not sure what you are talking about. Have you read anything that says that the firewalls at these brokerages were breached leading to these cases of fraud? I am pretty sure that they are all due to poor security by the brokerage customers, not caused by poor security of the...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I hope I didn’t claim that the trader can find the absolute optimal exit point (if I did that was a mistake) I agree that can only be found after the fact. I was trying to allude to the fact that the person that scales out has already chosen two different exit points (mid-point and final...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Good idea on defining terms. So you have a position, you have picked an intermediate point (by whatever means you use) and presumably there is a final target (again picked by whatever method your strategy dictates) where you sell the remainder of your position. For any given single trade...

es profit on 1/4 point can it be done?

Really? Sounds like you need a new broker.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I agree and disagree. Yes you have to assume that the historically optimal exit point remains optimal but that is true about all aspect of your trading. The strategy you use is based on its history and you assume it will keep working. How do you know that any aspect of your strategy is...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

(sigh) Whatever. I told you that you could use whatever examples you want rather than shooting down random numbers I threw out. If that's the case then you should hold the entire position for longer than 6 points depending on the stock and the overall condition. Whatever targets you use...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I think you are missing the point, the idea of playing with house money is a psychological cruch - it means you are trading suboptimally just to make yourself feel better. Wouldn't having more money at the end of the year make yourself feel better instead? Let's say out of 100 trades, if you...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Wow, I agree with B1S2 and can't believe that others don't see the obvious truth in what he is saying. It may feel good to scale out after making 3 pts and hold the rest for the full 6 pts but the bottom line is that one or the other is the correct place to sell everything...

    Dual Wan Routers

That's because it is impossible to maintain a TCP session when changing source IP addresses which is exactly what happens when you failover from one ISP connection to another. There is no hardware or software in the world that can change this fact - it is just how TCP works. It is...

No sorry, I meant you can check your IP address (using that site) before you unplug and then after and see if it changed.
