Not sure about your analysis. EUR/USD popped when the exit polls first came out favoring Kerry (before they were released to the public). Unfortunately, I don't really have a handle on this...it seems to me that a Bush win should spell further dollar weakness but the price seems to be saying...

No, he needs to take Ohio. Without Ohio, he needs to get several small states that bush won last time which is a longshot (or he could take Florida which doesn't look likely).

Well that didn't take long. Out at 19 for a 6 pip loss.

I should have been stopped out at 15 but I didn't have the stop in the system yet and I hesitated. Still long, moving stop up to 19 (spot) and looking for a target of 95.

I went long again risking 10 pips for 80. I'll hold it overnight if necessary.

Luckily I would never be using margin less than the exchange margin requirement but it still seems odd that IB gives a toss as to when the pits close. Hasn't anyone their figured out that most of the volume is on the screen?

Is this an IB thing? Why in the world would they say the day ends at 2:45 when the end of the NY interbank day and the CME futures close is at 5:00?

Well let's see, first of all I wasn't going to trade tonight. The plan was to go to bed at 7 or 8 and be up for the European open. Then I shorted a major up trend and held it for a 27 pip loss which is a violation of my trading plan (I can risk that or more if I'm going for a bigger gain)...

yeah...I think all of us might have to start trading it like it's a strong trend. Personally, I've gotten out of the habit and have shorted this puppy twice, once at 1.2748 and then again at 1.2788 (spot). I was stubborn on the first one and so I'm still underwater a few pips (current price 70).

Not completely but definitely less correlation than there used to be. Same recent break down of inverse correlation between stocks and bonds.
