I was all disappointed after you clarified your definition of "swing." "Direct Access" is the step up from "on-line" broker. With a traditional on-line broker, your order is emailed to a 3rd party (often NITE) who executes it when they can make a spread off the top. NITE pays the on-line...

A friend had a small prop firm. His traders were doing ok, making a little. After dec, they gradually all began losing money. His shop is now closed.

There is no practical fraud-proof way to verify trading success. Maybe tax returns, but that seems unlikely.

Every time some "respectable" investor buys a stock and the spread is not a mile wide, it is because the stock has high volume, which often comes from traders. Traders add volume, which creates a more efficient market. This benefits just about everyone.
