Can someone evaluate my currency "strategy"?

Nope. Oanda does not have Argentinian Peso. Neither do they have Russian Rubles nor Brazilian Reals. Turkish Lira was removed a while back as well. The problem with those, is that the financing costs would be insane due to how Oanda calculates. So it would not work out as a "no-brainer" trade...

Can someone evaluate my currency "strategy"?

Nope. You are right. The spread is all you pay. The spread might widen in less liquid time periods, and are wider for more "exotic" currencies, but spread (and a finance charge if you keep positions open for a while) is all you pay. I have traded a lot with Oanda and is happy with them...

    Invest in FX with leverage

I think Oanda actually might be cheaper than IB without having done the math. The following currencies are given a lower spread than Oanda’s normal spread as they are very liquid: EUR/USD GBP/USD EUR/GBP AUD/USD USD/CAD USD/JPY Both your prefered crosses are on that list. And as you with...

    Best European Broker?

Agree that there is not one best broker. However, unfortunately it is a lot of really bad ones that will bet against you and make it their sole mission in life not to let you get money out from your account. So I would be more concerned about avoiding the really horrible ones than to find the...

    Recommendation for Forex broker?

They only charge spreads. However, the spreads differ between instuments and due to liquidity in the market. In other words, spread is higher during the night than when the US markets are open. I only trade algorithmically, and have added limits to acceptable spreads. So if spreads go too...

    Recommendation for Forex broker?

I have been using Oanda for many years, and have had no issues. No hidden fees, no issues getting money out, and getting help is just a phone call away.

    Best European Broker?

Nope. Oanda does not charge commision for trading. Only the spread I guess they might charge commission for liquidity management services for businesses. But that is completely unrelated to trading

    Best European Broker?

They are competitive when it comes to spread. I am sure you can find someone cheaper. But for me it is not worth the risk of being ripped off. A lot of the fx-brokers come and go. And a lot of them will make it hard for you to get money out or trade against you. Oanda will not do that. So for...

What do you think Trading Success Rates are??

Here you are falling right into the trap of selectoin bias. Of course, if you base your selection on the most gullible group of traders, the ones that pay for training, instead of actually doing the work, you will get low successrate. People that succeed is people that have a critical sense...

Then I will recommend Oanda. Have traded with them for about 7 years, and no problems so far. Never been any trouble getting money out, and the key account manager is always there to help.

Question on usability of autotrading program

Well. At least my experience have been that the stop losses and take profit works. However, my strategy include a very high number of trades, so if the system would slip once in a while, I would most likely not have noticed. I give you that....

Question on usability of autotrading program

Again, do not agree. No problem to leave the system unattended for weeks at a time. I have the system add take profit and stop loss to all orders as they are entered. These boundaries are normally changed many times during the lifespan of a trade. However, if the system should crash while I am...

Question on usability of autotrading program

Not really. Just add boundaries, and have the system shut down or close all positions if thing goes outside of these. I leave my system on when I leave for vacation, without any possibility to control it. It has never been a problem.

Question on usability of autotrading program

Totally disagrees. I have since 2014 built a totally automatic trading system, which did about 1.8 million trades last year. That is far from a high frequency system, but not a particular high amount of value per trade either. The main advantage is that it keeps the "psychology" out of...

    I can't program...what platform should I use.

Agree. He should learn the basics of programming before starting a big project. But, you can do very simple stuff by just a few lines of code: For example this is all you need to open a trade: import oandapyV20 import oandapyV20.endpoints.orders as orders client =...
