Three questions regarding selling iron condors

Just to be clear ... I'm not arguing with you ... just trying to learn. Wouldn't your back test also show that it's not worthwhile to even buy the protective leg (or at lease keep it as far away as possible)?

Three questions regarding selling iron condors

Isn't this because we've been in a "buy the dip" mode for 10 years? So you are timing the market while the point of IC is to not have to?

Which one of you guys made this reddit post

Thank you for your truthful response. I didn't mean to pry. I have a lot of common with you, so that's why I asked. I, for one, have been impressed by your posts so hopefully your rant will attract some positive attention. If I hear of something with remote possibility I will pm you. Can you...

Has anyone been able to escape IB's price cap?

Exactly. For a retail broker, the compliance officer will make the decision. And the decision will be ... I don't know about other firms, but I don't want to get inquiries from exchanges about these trades! If you are in a prop shop, they may be able to negotiate these things within reason.

Three questions regarding selling iron condors

I found this little book very practical, for a nub like me at least. Many real life examples with actual prices at the time. Examples of trades taken at different volatility levels and unexpected vol spikes. There are many options experts here so if it's bogus I hope they will chime in.

who can be the best Mentor

I don't have experience with them, but check out Garage Day Trader on YouTube he may help you decide. Check out Warrior Trader. Check out ifundtraders(Oliver Velez). Check out Clay Trader. I don't think you can find/afford a dedicated mentor and the best you can hope for is to join some group...

Which one of you guys made this reddit post

So what's stopping you exactly? Sounds like you have just the skills needed. I gotta tell you that I was surprised to see such lengthy posts from you. Usually they are short and to the point (at least ones I came across).

Interview with a Full Time Trader and CTA

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you mean it as a negative, right? I think it's a very interesting topic in itself. Similar to getting out of the drawdowns. Don't think there's a right or wrong way to it. Maybe depends on the strategy itself as far as the opportunity cost to trading...

I'm thinking about starting a service...

Man, that sort of detail can only come from experience! LOL

I'm thinking about starting a service...

I had this theoretical idea ... probably not illegal, but definitely questionable so just to be clear: I am NOT doing this :) 1. Find a paid service which is profitable (at least lately) 2. Set up a Collective2 to trade the signals. 3. Get enough C2 subscribers to pay for original service...

Funding new traders Search for a better business model

Do people here generally agree with this statement? I don't think equity props even bother to separate education services from funding. I'm thinking T3 and ifundtraders as example.

Funding new traders Search for a better business model

Thanks, Robert. I was in discussion with someone about this kind of arrangement (trading their money only) and was told that I would need to be either licenced or have their licenced person run my black box. Neither option was suitable for me. Is that your understanding too or was it just...

    make 1 million from 100 $

Or put it another way, you can enjoy your life even more when you're good at what you do and you happen to love doing it. And if you don't love what you do, chances to make those millions are slim anyway. I hope it happens to all of us, but l would give the person two years of fishing max...

    A question on stop orders

Do you agree that there is an incentive to match marketable limit orders prior to market orders?

    A question on stop orders

I wander if anyone can confirm/deny this. I've read something similar to this. It said that marketable (not resting ones) limit orders will be executed before any market orders. The reason given made lots of sense to me ... Exchanges make money on volume. The market orders will always match...

    make 1 million from 100 $

Jessie Livermore said it took him long time to learn to stick to what one's expertise is. There are stories of geeat raders who lost lots of money just by trading strategies they were not experts at.

    Trading based on bid/ask (image)

Well, because it doesn't represent imbalance really. You don't see what is hidden. You don't know if there is algo splicing big orders. The only reason anyone would display large order and seat there like a duck is to signal something to the others, imho. This signal should be interpreted...

    Trading based on bid/ask (image)

I'm not sure I agree with your premise that large orders attract price. More likely, (as I believe Mark hinted), they are used to do the opposite. In any case, how would you trade it? Let's say you see large order on the bids, would you short by hitting the bid and wait for the price to move...
