    Any RealMoney Pro users?

heard that cramer now likes gold stocks. combined with today's top reversal on huge volume, i can't think of a better indicator that gold has topped for a while.

    Level II Information

i believe rogan was doing his book online, as well, because he recognized that methods which work today won't work tomorrow..and vice-versa.

    IB 1099's available

mine doesn't have a listing of individual stock sales (which is on form 1099 as a rule, and was on my IB one last year). i've blipped them a note, and hope to hear back soon.

i went a couple years ago; my answers are based on that experience. i'll be going again this year (taking a train down now that i've moved upstate), but am combining it with hooking up with financial people i used to work with (in person), for dinner and maybe lunch or breakfast? not sure yet...

    daytrade story bright mention

pleasantly surprised by the article; didn't say it was easy, said it was hard but not impossible... wow, that's how it actually is!

    What Was the Bullmarket Like?

oh, yeah, one other memory... i shorted QCOM *at the top*! 720. i covered about 660 though a few minutes later. and i 'only' shorted 200 shares. someone else would know better, but i believe CMRC had a 3-5 point spread when it was trading about 580ish... i expect the net 'mania'...

    What Was the Bullmarket Like?

htrader - and if you go backwards (from 1920), you can find more of the 'roughly 30-40 years' happening. right around 1900, and i think the 1860s, as well... so, what i've told people asking when the bull market is coming... "when you keep asking me", when no one is buy and hold... and...

    What Was the Bullmarket Like?

MALL (i think) gapping open 50 points to 100? down to 60 in the first 5 minutes, then back up most of the way. that's from vague memory. stupid things i did, but that made money: > GNET was halted. opened, after halt, at 95 up 10 points (paul allen got some?). bought 100 and 105 calls...

Trading is Freaking Easy Easy Easy

if trading's too easy / boring... keep doing it. make the money. then, start a 'second' thing. a hobby. a start-up venture. anything else. this way, the boring 'job' keeps bringing in the money, so that you can pursue the other (new, exciting) venture.

How many daytraders are still out there?

why daytrade? if i make a daytrade, i have ZERO risk overnight.

How many daytraders are still out there?

doubter - a couple reasons i'd question that study. first, many of the stocks which were part of the bubble were related to the message board area. for example, GNET was silicon investor. people who knew what a computer was would support their DELL, or their AMZN (bought there), or their...

    Best scanner for daytrades

depends on what your trading methodology is. i get some alerts from RT's hottrend scanner. i get some alerts from ISLAND's 'most up' / 'most down' system (and then look at L2/intraday charts). you probably want to determine what your system is - do you buy breakouts / sell breakdowns...

    Any RealMoney Pro users?

what babak said is dead-on. the amazing part is that cramer hasn't applied this to himself, since he KNOWS it exists. from his book (the one with his face huge on the cover), he said that when he was at the firm, some CEO came by to talk with them, and cramer was high fiving him, etc...

Is DayTrading Stocks Even Worth it Anymore?

one thing on why daytrading was harder during livermore's time... take a look at how many shares outstanding existed for the 'big' stocks. very, very few. and, remember that the specialists would keep spreads wider than subsequent years. daytrading was much easier at the bucket shops...

    Any RealMoney Pro users?

cramer had a piece in new yorker, where he basically said he never listened to blodget on INSP... although if you read his winners of the world piece, he LOVED INSP. and, he was buying INSP after that, on either a MSFT deal, or because of their head, or something like that. i don't...

floating a trial balloon concerning pdtr regulation

i think the bigger fear, rather than a "you must have 25k to daytrade", is that the rule that dictates a *certain* amount of money you must have to trade in a *certain* fashion. after all, the 25k rule is in. what's to say, in a year or 2, the amount to trade (if you're not 'professional'...

    Jeff Cooper off RealMoney

what i subscribe to: briefing. absolutely essential to me since i DON'T have a squawk box. i may hear the 'rumours' late, but it helps me avoid things. and the price is just right. tradingmarkets. i keep meaning to cancel it, but don't, as they sometimes have good reading, and their...

    Jeff Cooper off RealMoney

aaa - i'll admit i was disappointed and confused by cooper initially on RM. i really liked his first two hit and run books (thought they were very good at getting me to think 'big picture' for stocks); the 5 day trading method was a waste of money. so, when i saw him there - and had read him...
