    SuperMontage end of July

Nasdaq came to San Fran and I attended a meeting with two very nice girls. They gave an excellent presentaion. I was one of 3 people in the room set for 50 - shockingly. The had a bunch of laptops set-up with the prototype software on there for us to play with. You should call Nasdaq...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

Many firms mishandle accounts, sometimes on pupose and sometimes on accident. The risk is on the brokers side. They are the ones who will get reprimanded by the regulatory organizations, if they get caught. There is no risk to you. I should note that I am not an attorney or anything...

    SuperMontage end of July

The first bid has the size for the forst bid. The second bid has the size for the first plus second. The third bid has the size for itself plus the first two. It is a running total... for quick action. :)

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

A couple of points... You can place more than one trade per day in a cash account but you cannot use up all of your money, buyng and then selling it and use it again. What your broker allows you is what really matters. Since that is the reality of the situation. Let me tell you this...

    SuperMontage end of July

I have seen the protope software of SuperMontage. It shows the size and price for levels below. So if you send an order payng over the offer and selling below the bid, it will execute. It may read like this... (just the bid side) Price (size / 100) 50(5) 50(9) 50(19) 49.99(24)...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

Yes... assuming you are buying stocks, which take 3 days to settle. The money is available on the settlement date. Now if you are buying options which take one day to settle it is another issue.

    ADVICE from successful traders wanted

Many of the traders in here claim to have made or are making lots of $$$. I was wondering if you had some advice for someone poor and struggling. With great experience in options and stock... but no real amount of $$ to begin with $40,000 or so. Can you make it? What was the turning...

    SuperMontage end of July

Are there any opinions on how SuperMontage will affect the market and market places? Wil it be the ECN killer? Will AMEX Nasdaq have to enter SupeMontage? Will Nasadq have an unfair markt position? Is the need for broker's "smart" software gone, with the introduction of...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

On a cash account the funds are not released until the trades settle T+3. This rule has been around a long time but was not enforced until recently (when they released the new day trding margin rules). So your capital is tied up for 3 days. The rule stinks bu tis not likely to change. It...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

Any account that places more than 3 trades in 5 days will be labeled a day trading account. Not just at IB. If your account is under $25,000 and is labelled as day trader account. You get an equity call. Then you will be reduced to 2-1 margin for 5 days with an equity call on the...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

The account balance for day trading is the equity number not the cash. So if you have $24,000 cash and $1,500 fully paid for options. Then you have 25,500 with regards to day trading equity.

    Liquidity Tracker

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Nasdaq Liquidity Tracker? I think it will be a great service. I suppose it all depends on how much the market makers like it. The idea is... use the old SNET to route an order to the market maker who last took an opposing position. You will know who...

    Arca

Even as good as ARCA is yu can still get filled outside the NBBO. This is becuase of simple economics. ARCA is a step by step router, and it tries cheapest, not best first. 1) It first matches in house.... the cheapest 2) Then it matches with the 4 direct links it has to ECNs... all...

    Nyse Direct

I know NYSE Direct + is good for 1,099 shares and it does not function unless there is at lest 200 size on the NYSE quote. Question... If the bid is 200 shares and I send an order to sell 1000 shares. Will I get 1000 shares or 200 shares? If it is 200 shares is there a way to keep the...

Cyber vs. IB - again, but this is specific

The broker does not need to get involved in the down or up-tick. The ECN (ISLD in this case) will reject the order if it needs to be rejected. ISLD does obey the NYSE up-bid rule. But does not recognize the NASD up-bid rule, unless told to do so. ISLD has no policy to reject short...
