I do not want to pull teeth... but... Checking the price... can you tell us more? Checking the Size... what would it check for? How would it handle for different size amounts? Does it break it up? Route... well this is the whole thing... you summed it up with one word. Is there...

Leasing A Seat At One Of The Exchanges!

Timber is more of what I would call a hedge fund. I am aware that many groups have merged (consolidated) to try an compete on a larger scale. Susquehanna is another one. I was talking of the groups of traders off floor that were pick-off artists. Locking free positions by using multiple...

    Intelligent Order Routing Direct Acess

    Intelligent Order Routing Direct Acess

"Smart routing" is a term tossed about by brokers who do not understand how things work. Many firms and ECNs just use a step by step order routing. e.g. first matches in house book, then routs to ECNs with Direct Links established, then uses Nasdaq services. This is how ARCA works...

IB increase option commisions for self routed orders

Timber gets the electronic show on all IB orders that are sent though the auto-router, as opposed to self-directed to the floor. They make money on the maket making side, and the broker side, so they can offer lower commisions. Not sure if this is bad or good... seems it could be argued...

    Re-Org's, Takeovers, Mergers etc...

This string has not been such a hot topic as I had hoped. Let me give an example of an easy one that occurred 2 years ago... SUNW bought COBALT I forgot the symbol. The Cobalt options market makers forgot all about it because it settled 1-for-1 with stock and did not require any special...
