    Do Trendlines work?

Here is the EUR/USD chart. Time is East Coast to help compare volume/activity with the US market hours. What could be used for a leading indicator? Cyber model? There are both spot and Futures FX contracts. Something along those lines or a more complex composite model? Didn't have...

Here's my take on FMCN. Looks like a mid channel FTT, has several change signals. But what must come next . . .

What book should I read to really learn currency trading??

The books really don't have anything that isn't on the web. A little background, a little TA you've already heard about, and a little on interest rates. If you're very lucky they might have a chart showing most liquid hours. The free lessons here will have 99% of what you'll find in a book...

For Multicharts attached is the all in one code for Pro-Rata Volume, Volume bar color and Pace lines. Everything is adjustable except the volume bar color, that has to be changed in the code if you need to. To reduce the number of pace lines for the YM, just set a couple of them to the...

You really need to review a bunch of past charts to decide/see for yourself. A couple of us went back 2 years. For this particular day there was morning news so the low volume off the open was expected. - EZ

I found several sections today where the YM and ES had high over lap and it was difficult to see the signals for change (or seeing too many of them). Felt like looking for the teapot: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap071216.html

Here's a screen shot of the colors working. I found all the volume based indicators need to be coded in the same "indicator". If you create and add them separately into a window they won't keep the same scale. So if running the PRV code, you would need to add the bar color code to that...

How do you trade a parabola move?

Jack, You've mentioned the Connors-Hayward volatility compression several times and that it was converted to a directional indicator. If I remember correctly it had a 6 and 100 period lookback. How would that give you more information than seeing the bars (and volume) compress on the chart...

There is a company, Real World Games, that has a similar product out there. Free demo. I tried it years ago. It's pretty good. I'm surprised they're still around. http://www.realworldgames.com/ Their 30 day stock challenge is almost identical to the one in this thread. You can go long...

The first circled one did make a lower low, then retraces almost the entire bar, and was on increasing volume. I saw it as ending the red traverse and starting the black retrace. So though it didn't quite tick above the close, it looked close enough. Thanks for covering it - EZ :)

Not trying to put you on the spot :p . Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. On the chart I circled the ones that seemed to fit an IBGS best, though the first one I'm not 100%. From what I understand the shift will end up being a gaussian peak or trough, though it might be a...

Guava, On the last three IBGS's on your chart, could you explain why they are IBGS's? They look like pretty directional to me, so I don't follow. Thanks - EZ

    Iterative Refinement

Data feed went south around the big break time, so on my chart it looked like the YM ran up but ES stayed put for about 10 minutes. That could ruin someones day if on the wrong side. On a better note, 7 bars earlier in the YM's symmetrical pennant, it broke out higher what seemed like a...

    Iterative Refinement

Not to muddy the waters, but in this "particular" example, it's: look at the size of that bar compared to it's low volume, something's up - change. But based on the extreme movement alone I'd have drawn in a Pt 3 first and see what happens later. Though I'd expect it to continue up after that...

Got it, thought the "closed lower" was reference to the bar close, not volume. See it now. - EZ
