Nothing to do with volatility, it's all about volume. - EZ

Jack has his reasons for doing it a bit different this time around. I don't want to screw up your thread and go off topic with this. - EZ

For those with an interest, here is a bar overlap chart using 5-min bars based on 5 days of data late October. The last few bars of each day were eliminated due to the high volume spikes at the EOD from closing of positions. The pace levels were a bit off (5 days for the chart, but the pace...

Left to right on the scale would be increasing overlap in points, if I'm not mistaken. As you move down the chart it to lower volume levels it shows more overlap days. The negative numbers I would think are gap days.

This is a daily overlap chart that was put out with the two charts ehorn posted (in another thread last year). Don't want this to take the thread off topic, but seemed like an appropriate time to post it since the current log contains overlap. <img...

Neoxxx, The next week of charts as requested. I reduced the border thickness on formations so they wouldn’t compete too much with your annotations but still be visible. Also notice on the first three charts, near EOD the volume is “clipped” only on the highest volume bar, so the rest...

The 11:10 closed back inside the previous bar making it non-dom.

    Iterative Refinement

Interesting question. It should confirm the RTL BO. We did continue up so I'd say yes. Looking at the 11:30 bar, it closed outside the lateral, then the 11:35 closed up on increasing volume. So isn't that a return to dominance? Regarding the 11:45 spiki-ness, aren't spike bars...

    Iterative Refinement

I suspect the difference here is in the fractal. On the 5 min we don't get a return to dominance until after the 2nd lateral. That would be the reason Spyder didn't annotate the blue and pink traverse channels they are inside of as traverses. If on a faster fractal then the first lateral is...

Thanks for the chart. That's what I was getting at with the second scenario. And it makes the next brown downleg work out. :)

    Iterative Refinement

The first lateral traverses the channel to a pt 3, so that would be at least a traverse. When we break out down and move to the second lateral, it appears to be a complete down traverse sequence as the volume gaussian goes increasing-decreasing-increasing. So if the 2nd lateral is part of a...

    Iterative Refinement

Thanks, that's what I was getting at, they are non-dom movement but don't qualify as a traverse. I don't think it was an oversight they aren't annotated as to what type of lateral. The second one seems to be a continuation of the first and not the start of a new sequence down. At the end of...

It is a bit confusing. Orange and olive are not traverses and the blue widens or rolls to the green. So it appears the green channel is just a large traverse. I'm not sure and trying to work through these, so thought I'd post 'em. - EZ

    Iterative Refinement

The is the chart for 10-22-08 with more apparent traverses that aren't in the morning. The afternoon confusion is around the laterals and determining the sequences in those areas. How you read that determines "what" sequence completion you're looking for - if the lateral BO (2nd circled)...

Here is Spyder's chart where what appears to be a few traverses aren't. Then a long lateral traverse.
