You seriously don't think there's a spread in futures or equities? Any liquidity takers in such markets are paying the spread. And please don't tell me you'll be a 100% passive liquidity provider in every single scenario. 2) Both spot and futures markets have sufficient leverage available...

IB Futures Margin Requirements - CDN site..

Thanks. I suspected there'd be no difference. Yeah, I can't see how the site has been broken for so long without people noticing.. IB should jump on that.

IB Futures Margin Requirements - CDN site..

I'm guessing there's no difference in margin requirements between for futures on US and Canadian IB accounts... but just in case IIROC has some special rules, I tried looking up the margin requirements today and was met with this: IB, please fix your site.

The spam is getting out of hand. Without first post moderation, people are just carpet bombing this forum with affiliate links or promotional material. Even if you remove the offending posts within a day, site visitors still end up clicking through links on these posts.. so an economic...

Anyone else concerned by DirectEdge tagging orders as RETAIL?

If you truly believe that you, as a retail trader, have an advantage over your peers... then getting a better fill through this method might be to your benefit. Think about it. The whole reason pay-for-orderflow exists is because market makers feel retail order flow is safe (and thus, they are...

Anyone else concerned by DirectEdge tagging orders as RETAIL?

You are grossly underestimating how much volume is done by institutional players in the equities market. (Hint: Retailers are lightweights compared to institutional buy-side.)

Anyone else concerned by DirectEdge tagging orders as RETAIL?

Sounds like indirectly dragging pay for order flow type setups into lit markets... this actually might be a positive thing if you think about it.

Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

Because he wants to pay extra spread, extra commissions, and the net negative carry interest. Not to mention any additional costs involved with opening and funding a 2nd account. The broker is happy to let him.

    Operating System Choice

Holy crap.. you said something I actually strongly, strongly agree with. Maybe I'm just getting old and set in my ways, but I find myself the most productive on 'desktop metaphor' user interfaces when it comes to workstations. Regardless of the OS in question.

    Operating System Choice

To be clear, I mean "clients" as in desktop trading stations, as opposed to servers... not people asking me to code for them or hiring me.

Who wants to be a profitable trader?

When you look at a chart and go "this is trending" or "we're ranging", are you not making a bet that price will continue to move the same? Is this not your anticipation or prediction? In hind sight the chart appears to trend, you bet that trend continues, by doing so you're predicting it...
